2013 Tacoma. 3" lift on rear. 2" on front. Tires fit quite well into the wheel wells of my truck, and only rub UCA during full turn of wheel, nowhere else. I'm aware they likely will during offroading too.

I have a set of 1.25" hubcentric (Spidertrax) spacers ordered. Not my ideal solution, but, figuring they're only 1.25" and hubcentric, they shouldn't add much load to the bearings or studs (bearings have 220k anyway, bout time they go out). Did not want to swap wheels.

My question is, will this entirely fix my issue? Would moving to a 3" lift help? Or, would aftermarket UCAs be thinner and thus less likely to rub? I know if I move to a 3" lift UCAs are recommended anyway, but is there any point in going that route to begin with?

Yes wheel spacers, or different wheels, or aftermarket UCAs.

the amount of lift won’t help because even if your clearing the tire at 3” when your suspension compresses you’ll rub.

    Are you running stock wheels?

you may have gotten away with 3/4” spacers, with the 1.25” you’ll need to watch out for rubbing your cab mounts.

Sorry, should have included that. Good old standard TRD aluminum wheels. 285/70/17 Yokohama Geolandar G003 mud grips.

Edit - I went with 1.25' because it seemed they were the safest style, new studs pressed into them, ie., my existing lug nuts wouldn't be getting less of a bite on them like they would with less deep ones.

The ones you ordered are a great choice, it was just a heads up.

With the .75” you possibly have to cut the OEM wheel studs depending on what wheels you have.

Aftermarket UCA's for anything approaching or over 2.5" of lift.

Once you install the spacers, get your alignment done and get as much caster as you can possibly get , it will probably need to be 3-4 degrees, if you set at factory specs you’ll more than likely rub the fender and body mount.

Fantastic, lol. It looked like it should clear all of that, but I trust you. Wonder if another inch of lift would help mitigate that as well?

Edit -also, since we're on the subject, if I end up having to go with new UCAs, which are best? I'm not trying to spend 1500 bucks and go jumping dunes. I just want quality that will last as long as these stock ones have, and will function well. I do use this truck extensively on a farm, offroad, and during hunting season. It has a hard life, but the stock ball joints have held up for 220k.

I’m running 3/2 lift 285/70/17 on 17x8.5 -10 wheels, I have jba ucas which I have had zero issues with. Running 4 degrees of caster and no issues.

Has this caused issues with the tires wearing prematurely? I got 40k out of my last mud grips, and those were HARD miles on gravel roads and fields full of stubble. I imagine if it hits the cab mount, I can fix that with a bit of oxy and acetylene out at the shop..

Aftermarket UCAs wont help. I have 4 degrees of caster on JBAs and rub at full lock on the UCAs (255/70 tires). I need to get spacers or new wheels. So I'm saving for new wheels

I believe with the jba’s you need at least 4.5 back space.

Different upper control arms, less back space on wheels.
275s will rub with stock wheels...

Okay. When we're talking backspace we're into a territory I fully admit I am ignorant about. I'm gonna run these spacers for now, but, when I decide to swap to another wheel - what wheel will get me in the sweet spot? Far enough out not to hit upper arm, but not so far I hit the body mounts/etc? Rather, what's ideal?

    Edit: https://www.4wheelparts.com/p/pro-c...-alloy-wheels/9301?Bolt+Pattern_PQMS=6+on+5.5

Those are about my style. Very simple, mostly black, matte. 17x8 with 4.5 backspacing. 0 offset. Unsure if they'd work.

Those will work. Just confirm whatever wheel you purchase has wheel bore spec 106.1mm
