I just put 22x12’s with 33’s and 6” lift on my truck. Should I look into getting it regeared?

If you can’t stand the way it drives then re-gear, otherwise if you don’t have any complaints then leave it be. But gears would definitely help it feel like stock again.

I didnt think SR5's came with TRD stickers on the back. Ususally if it has a sticker the sticker says its 4x4. I know SR's have the emblem in the back for 4x4

neither SR5 or TRD indicate whether it is a 4x4

SR5 have the emblem in the bottom corner of the tailgate.

I can’t speak for the SR5 but the TRD does say 4x4 on the side of the bed.

Right. Let me rephrase.. i'm saying that neither SR5 or TRD packages/ stickers are necessarily indicators of a 4WD truck. Both come in 2WD as well. I just didn't see how your initial quote/ comment on the sticker was relevant to answering the question if it was 4x4

I was just asking because this thing is clearly a mall crawler so I thought there might be a chance it’s only 2wd. In that case the regear will be half the price and probably much more worth it to the OP.

Paying for a regear on 2 drive axles when only one is ever getting used is a big expense. In which case the OP may just be happy enough with an OVTune. Because I’m also assuming he’s from FL where there’s no hills.

Yes it’s 4WD I just put the sticker on it but no my driveway isn’t steep either.

In that case if it were my money I would try OVTune first and see what you think.

But you never really said why you were considering a regear in the first place. If you’re ok with the way it drives with the bigger tires just leave it alone. Or at least give it a few thousand miles to see what you think.

I’m actually from TN. In the mountains next to the NC line. I don’t go off-roading cause I like keeping my truck clean. The only reason I’m asking is for the gas mileage and power.

I would give it some time. If you drive a lot you’ll know pretty quick if you can live with it or not as it is now. As far as mpg go you’ll have to do the math on that to see if it’s worth it. But I’m assuming if you have the coin to drop on a 6” lift, 22” wheels and 33 tires purely for aesthetics, then you can afford a couple hundred a year in extra gas without worrying about it.
