Planning a repaint on my 07 Reg. Cab. Pro wheel upgrade with KO2's, Pro grille and blacked out emblems. What color would you recommend? Wife saw a Cavalry Blue Tacoma and loves it but hard to choose a color to live with for a long time. I will paint it myself, have experience. Truck is base, only option is AC. New frame. Has 85K and suits me fine. Looked at new but no manual trans for the 2.7? So decided to keep it, paint it and upgrade appearances a bit. What say ye?

If not planning on doing door jams, tail gate jams, engine compartment I’d stay black.

Cool, finally a vote for Cement! Still nobody picked Cavalry yet. I suppose if I changed the color but didn't do jambs, then black jambs would be less objectionable than most any other color.

While I like Cavalry, I like it more on other people's vehicles.

Looks good to me Sexton! Great to see the color on a Gen2. Thanks! Mine's just a work truck too so doesn't have to be perfect. Just going to get roughed up later. No avoiding it sometimes.

Black with Gold metal flake, I had a Supra I had painted with that color, it was the coolest color for a vehicle that I've ever owned.

Unless you're not worried about resale value, repainting in anything but the original color is the only way to go. Most folks don't understand just how hard it is to correctly color change a vehicle. Door jambs, back side of the cab, front side of the bed, under the hood, etc. all need to be properly prepped and painted with a color change and that takes a ton of time and effort to do right. Done incorrectly, it'll look like hell in those areas and kill the resale value. Just my 2 cents speaking as one who's been there before.

A quicksand reg cab would be cool. Can’t go wrong with the black though.

The Army Green is starting to grow on me. Hard decision. Have to live with it for a long time. No plans to sell. I have seven cars and all but one are black. Thinking it's time for a color change. But yes, original black makes a lot of sense.
