Autoart makes some amazing stuff. I have a number of their Mitsubishi Evo's and they're pretty detailed. I follow a few guys that take the autoart cars to the next level with complete detail rehauls and altered parts (ie lowered suspension, big brake kits etc)...

How'd you make your camper shell and bumpers? They look really good and I'd like to attempt my own.

I build scale models for a hobby so I have a lot of spare scratchbuilding stuff lying around. I used 0.080 diameter rod (I think that's the size) for the tube sections on the bumper, then used styrene sheets of different thicknesses cut and glued to shape the plate portion of the bumper. I used CA glue for majority of the build and cement glue for some of the styrene parts to help melt them together.

After that it's bending, lining up, gluing, adjusting... saying F' it and tossing it all out and starting over. For the camper shell I just ball park cut the shape of it out, then to smooth it over I used some 2-part epoxy putty called milli-put to give it that "curved" look and sanded it to shape.

Has anyone found a place that makes simple diecast versions of Tacomas? My three year old is having a fit to find a silver Tacoma like his dad drives. It's mostly stock, so the simpler, the better.

looking for a 3rd gen if anyone has seen one? I realize this is an old thread but thought I'd give a try. Need it so I can make it match my real truck and 1/9 scale Minime. This way the Minime has a Miniminime?

Did not read thread. My kid has had this regular sized Matchbox outside in the dirt for a while.

Looking for anything really. My minime is 1\9 scale so was hoping to find something Matchbox size to Mod and paint to closely match. Thanks for the quick reply. :hattip:

Not a Tacoma, but probably by far my favorite Toyota ever made, Land Cruiser pickup truck. I grew up with these and just have so many memories, along with the known reliability. I know several people who had more than 1 million kilometers on theirs, with very minor maintenance.
    PXL_20210806_025544977.jpg
I actually bought two of these. One will be slightly modified to get rid of the rake and to lower the bedsides a little to be more representative of what they looked like. The rendering on the box is more accurate.
