Based on all of the talk of regearing, I believe to be the only one who wants to lower their gear. 18 M/T and I want to be closer to 2000 at 75. So that would mean going to a 3.73 or lower gear. Obviously the engine is capable of doing that since the autos already do that. Only downfall would be backing up, but thats what the 2lo mod is for. Does anyone know of any vendors that offer this? Ive looked at a 3.73 but it seems to be titled, “thicker” gears, so i assume its not going to help?Cheers

Do you live on a flat plateau?

Maybe someone can chime in but I haven't seen a regear to go opposite way

You could probably find someone nearby with an AT to swap 3rd members with you. Win win. Saves you both a couple grand.

AT’s have 3.90’s...3.73’s on a manual would move peak torque higher in the rpm band so be prepared to provide more throttle input that’s the downside.

    Wait, what?

While I agree that our transmission could use a touch higher 6th gear (and that would make 5th more useful) AND a considerably lower reverse - why would we want to have the issues with gearing that the A/Ts do (but worse)?

Run bigger tires and install a speedo calibration gadget? Cheaper?

You do this and reverse is going to be useless unless you also run the 2-low mod BTW lol.
