Morning everyone. Happy hump day eve.

Yesterday was fucking brutal at work. Expect nothing less today. Let the shit show # 2 begin.

Yesterday really had me thinking about putting my notice in... It was that bad.

Good morning Ct and across the borders,

Planning on doing some cleanup on the sliders from this years use, and make sure that the inside of the frame is well coated from welding those on. I initially sprayed the inside of the c channel sections of the frame, but I never was able to get the inside of the front tube section of the frame where the front mounts are; someone recommended Eastwood internal frame spray, so I’ll be ordering that up.

When my brother welded the sliders on, he was able to get the sides (including the angle up), and the bottom parts of the welding plate welded real clean, but was not able to get enough room to weld the small top part. It’s definitely strong enough as it currently is, but I’m looking to seal that top section to the frame, really to keep road spray out. What would you all recommend for this application? I was think jb weld or epoxy but wanted to see all of your thoughts.

Picture below of the General shape of the welding plate that I’m talking about

Thank you sir. But doubt it will... co-worker took the entire week off, so it can only get worse.

Don't get me wrong, I don't care if he takes time off. What I do care about is the fact that I have to cover for him and a lot of the stuff that he "covers" I know NOTHING about, but yet I'm still the backup person, even though I was never trained on it. The daily volume is already crazy as it is (yesterday I was easily at over 300 inbound emails that I read every single one), but then when you don't know anything about something and you are getting asked all these questions, and it takes several emails back and forth to get information, and you're questioned about shit like that, and questioned about shit that you do cover and you tell people what to do but yet they push back on you and go "crying" to your supervisor about, that's when it gets even more annoying. Not to mention that some of the shit he handles, the stuff that I know NOTHING about, used to be handled by someone else... so why can't that other person cover that while he's out, and I do the rest?!?!?! I guess it would make too much sense to split it up... but it's not my place to say anything, so I have to keep quiet. But, if I do get asked, you better believe I'll say something. I've had enough.

I gripe about work a lot, I know, especially when my co-worker is off and I cover, but that's when everything comes to a boiling point because I'm stretched too thin, and I realize how much I don't know about certain things that I am asked to do/cover on... I'm only one person trying to do two people's job. It's not fun.

i got a pro but got it for 45,750. so I’m pretty sure its just the truck. I got a tri fold for 300. Im thinking of adding the bed mat, sill protectors and maybe the remote lock on the tailgate? Im going to do aftermarket weather mats and running board.

This is my first Tacoma so I apologize for the dumb question...but do they come standard with a remote start? And do most people go aftermarket or OEM?

If you do this, use the one in the article I referred to earlier. (https://tacomadepot.com/the-top-10-things-that-should-have-come-standard-on-your-tacoma/
It says for a Tundra, but there's a TW member that used it and confirms it works.

They are not standard. The OEM starter was quoted at $375 for my 2017. The aftermarket is $175. I THINK the only difference is that the aftermarket starter kills the engine as soon as you open the door. I don't believe this happens with OEM. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Hullo! Joy of Joy, I got my official Toyota letter regarding my frame. I have had heated discussions from friends regarding this issue. I went through it with my 2007. I still stand behind Toyota that they are following through on this issue. My 2007 had perforations and when I declined to have the frame replaced I was given a very fair trade in offer. I have kept an eye on the frame of my 2015 and see no signs of corrosion but think next time I go in for a service will have them take a look.

Sucks when (what I feel is not right) work gets all thrown on one person because the other is out, and your "team" only consists of two people. Especially with the line of the business that we handle... It's constant movement all day, tons of emails, phone calls, back and forth... Unlike the others (I think) which don't have the constant movement that ours has.

So, is it the same shit show when you are off?
Sounds like demanding some more training would help, but if you don't do it - training only goes so far.
Maybe you can convince mgt to get that other person to cover for 2nd 1/2 of the day, help wrap the mess up each day.
You know from your buddy - we're looking for seasonal help. But going forward weekends would be required. :(

    Morning everyone. Happy hump day.

If I could get someone to cover the shit that I don't know anything about, and that person would be the one that used to do that stuff anyway, that alone I think would be a great help. But I don't think it's up to me to say or do anything because technically that person is not part of our team, and has her own supervisor, etc. My guess is that it's the same type of shit show when I'm not there, but not certain... Chances are it's not because I feel that what I handle is pretty easy and straightforward, so it's not very hard to handle. The stuff that the other person handles that I know nothing about on the other hand... That's hard to me at least, and that's where I get bogged down the most I feel.

It's just a fucking mess (in my opinion)... They'll never hire anyone else, and they'll never ask if we need help. It's the whole mentality of "do more with less". It won't change.
