Those ones that plug into the cig lighter aren't any good, and they will drain your battery...for $70 you can get a Viair 88p which connects directly to the truck's battery while it's running and will air up all 4 tires without risking overloading the compressor. I would highly recommend the Viair 88p over that one

No worries. If it was an issue of the Oreilleys being < $50 and that was what was in your budget, then I would understand...but for $70 you can get a much more capable one like the Viair

I've used something similar before on my wife's car when it was having battery issues, worked great to get it jump started

X2 on the Viair 88p, I've had it for like 2 years now & the cost/performance continues to put a smile on my face. A few of my buddies have saved a ton of money by getting the Warn winch without air & getting the 88p.

I've got a Noco jump box like that & it works just fine. It holds juice, it transfers juice, what more could you want?

Any other items I’d need? Basic tool kit? Got a few of those at home, but wouldn’t mind picking up a new one for the truck

This is a partisl list of the things you should carry.
    Some of Tools to have are 10, 12, 14, 17, 19, 21, 24, 35 all in mm
(deep and shallow socket plus wrenches) wrenches and sockets to do just about anything on these things. I do recommend at least 2 19mm wrenches
