I have a brand new Taco under 2 weeks old, but have to "slam" to shut the driver door on a new 2019 Access cab... is there an easy adjustment or should I just bring it in to the dealer? (which I generally do not like to do)

Slam is a bit of a stretch but certainly not easy.

I would think there must be a thread on door adjustment around here somewhere....

Will it close normal with the window rolled down slightly? I took mine to the dealer for the same thing and they said it was normal till the weather strip "broke in". Mine close good if the window is rolled down a little.I think the cab vent baffle isn't working as designed. In other words, when you close the door it's creating too much air pressure.

Mine does the same thing since day one. Doors dont close all the way if I dont push hard. I hear people have gone to the dealer to adjust the door lock thing but it was the same thing afterwards. I live with it and assume it's an access cab thing since the driver and passenger door doesnt really have a pillar to close on to.

DO NOT do shit to your brand new truck yourself!!! Take it to the dealer and make them make it right!!

They get better after a few months of slamming them shut.

It's preferable that they're hard. Once the get compressed it'll shut too easy.

My access cab is >2 months old and just now starting to close normal. Next, the wind noise will start creeping in.

Door weatherstrip is the problem , it needs to soften up " break in" and once it has the doors will close easier

My 2018 Access Cab doors close as easy as my wife’s Lexus. I cringe when she slams the door on my truck because it is unnecessary.
Take it back to the dealer.

My access cab was this way when it was brand new. After owning for two years I either got used to closing it harder, or the weatherstripping has broken in enough to not be an issue.
    I wouldn't worry about it.

Got my access cab in April. What you describe is not normal. Take it to the dealer and make them fix it. I have the weather stripping, nope that's not normal.

My '16 Access cab didn't have this issue... but what it DID have was an annoying kazoo shriek at around 70+. It could happen on either front door, depending on crosswind. Maybe the new seals fill the gap "better"?
I know which problem I'd rather have lol ;)

I just picked up my 2020 TRD DCSB. My driver's door also has to be given a little more force to shut. If another door or window is open it closes easier. I assume it needed adjustment but also think it is because the truck is "tight" and the inside air cannot escape when closing a door. It bothered me a little at first but after reading these posts...not so much anymore. Certainly not going to let some Toyota tech f**k with what they are probably not use to fixing.

    Mine close great too.

I wouldn't think having a window down would make a difference, there's 2 vent looking things on the back of the cab.

My new 2020 TRD's driver's door is tighter to close (see Post #15) also than my wife's 2016 Lexus RX 350. The doors on it close with a touch. But, I would rather ride to Alaska on a dirt, bumpy road than ride around the block in her Lexus. IMO, it is an overpriced, gadget laden POS.

I bought mine in Virginia (because it was WAAAAY cheaper as in thousands) but live in upstate NY.... can I bring it to a different dealer without getting the "stink eye" so to speak?? Do dealers care about that?
