How many miles have you gotten out of your stock tires?

Hello all, I don't post on here much but I wanted to get your insight on something.

I have a 2018 TRD OR DCSB that I bought from Rick Hendrick Toyota last November, so I've had it for close to a year. I've had all the regular maintenance done at that dealership up to now.

The truck has 25,500 miles on it. Today I brought it to Nally Toyota in Roswell for it's 25000 mile service, because it is closer to my work, and they told me that my tires only have 3/32 left of tread.

They are the stock Goodyear's that came with the truck, so they only have 25500 miles on them, but now the dealership is telling me they will need to be replaced soon?

I looked it up and they are supposed to be rated for 60,000 miles according to Goodyear's website, so it's pretty surprising that the dealership is already saying they need to be replaced.

How many miles have you all gotten out of these tires?

Here is a picture of my truck in North Georgia for your trouble

Can’t comment on tread wear for the stock tires since I replaced them immediately. However, I would strongly suggest in purchasing a tire tread gauge and measuring yourself. They can be purchased for practically nothing and an excellent resource for monitoring tire health. Hard to believe you have used that much tread in 25K but crazier things have happened...

I'm around the same mileage (80% hwy driving) but dealer hasn't mentioned anything about my tires/they don't look near end of tread

I got about 45,000 out of the set on my 2016 but they were pretty well shot by then. On my 2017, I got 20,000 before I speared one and replaced them

I got 56,000 out of my set of falkens I put on as the replacement.

    That was my thought.
I planned on eventually going with 265/75/16's, but I wanted to wait until the truck had some miles on it before I started any major mods. If I do tires, then I'll want to do a lift, and if I do a lift I'll want sliders, and If I'm getting tires I might as well get the wheels I want at the same time....its a slippery slope I was hoping to not go down for another year.

My 2011 came with Dunlop Grantrek AT20s that I replaced at 55k. I probably could have gone longer, but I had a lift and was itching to get something bigger under there.

I got less than 10k before I had a catastrophic blowout on the highway on a stock Firestone. I tossed those.

Then, I got under 20k miles on BFG KO2s before they cupped to all hell.

I have 10k on the Pathfinder ATs I have now and they're holding up great. I'll be thrilled if I get 30k. If you wheel with the truck, tow with the truck, etc, it's hard on tires.

Your truck is also extremely heavy. Even still, you should be getting more than 30k on a set of tires.

I should see more life with the 33" tires I have now, but only time will tell. More diameter is more tread, so less wear. I used to get GREAT gas mileage in my Ranger, but I also used to drive like grandma. I drive much faster now than I did 10 years ago because my commute's gotten worse and my kids are impatient. Nothing's worse than sitting in traffic with a screaming 2 year old. I'm sure you can relate to that. ;)

My alignment is good and I've fixed my preload, but I still have high speed, load, and weight. It's a recipe for low tire life, especially since I daily drive this thing loaded up.

I'm actually curious if @Built2Ride has similar experience with low tire life to me, I'm under the impression he has a lead foot too.

I would not think speed would be a factor at all. Miles are miles. Doesn’t matter how fast your going. Burning rubber is one thing. But I’m no tire expert. Load and incorrect pressure would lessen the life though

Replaced my stock tires at 32,000, with winter coming I wasn't going to go into it with tires that where 90% gone. Wildpeaks replaced them and hope to get better mileage out of them

2016 trd or sitting at 42k right now but they are not going to last much longer. Planning to go the 255 route. Originally was going to go with black 17” sema wheels bit might just keep my stock 16” wheels. Now just to figure out which 255/85/16 has the best road manners?

About 35k miles. Could have gotten another 10k out of them but I really disliked the original tires.
