Not counting Laurel Lakes in early Sept, it's been over 4 months since my last trail run. Definitely the longest I've gone by far since I got my truck in 2016...feels bad man

Although on the plus side I'm saving some money, lol. Kind of...been doing long overdue maintenance/repairs as well

Yeah I went a while without getting on dirt myself until last weekend, I took a last minute trip to big bear and decided to do a couple fire roads/the squeeze and i caught the bug again lol

You gotta get in as much wheeling as you can pre-child man! You have to be getting pretty close?!

Yeah she's coming in hot lol. Due end of January. Didn't wheel much over summer but that's really OK by me since I hate the heat anyhow. But now it's getting nice and cool outside and the perfect wheeling weather is upon us, so I do want to squeeze in a few more trips while I can

I can't really do any wheeling for the remainder of the year, unfortunately... Can't risk costly repairs right before the wedding/honeymoon...

But I'd love to get some snow wheeling in this winter! I definitely want to plan some day trips up in Big Bear around some snow storms. Anyone else up for that, around Jan/Feb/March?

I am slightly afraid of snow wheeling for the mere fact that I have never done it, BUT I definitely want to give it a go!

Also, anyone have any recommendations for chains for 285/70/17? (that hopefully fit 285/75/17 as well :fingerscrossed:)

If you have 4wd I don't think you'll ever need them in the snow we get out here...I've been in some of Big Bears biggest snow storms in recent years and never needed them. But occasionally even with 4wd the CHP will ask that you show that you have some with you just in case, in order to go up the mountain (if it's snowing really heavily). For that reason I just picked up a cheap set from the auto parts store to show CHP

Sweet, I don't have experience with "wheeling" in snow (I've done plenty of mountain driving in heavy snow), so I'd definitely want to stick to easier trails, probably do something like Holcomb Valley Trail after a snow, so there's nothing steep or crazy.

I'm glad there's some interest though, I'll definitely post up here when I have the opportunity to go!

If you stick the main road yea. Just don't do any of the optional routes/off-shoots.

I couldnt even imagine doing Heartbreak in the snow... Even towards the top there is a off camber section that kinda pushes you down the mountain. I would be shitting myself
