Whoa. And they’re decent in mud?
I’ve been leaning toward the STT pros

Wildpeaks 265 75 16. No balancing issues at all , had them for 4k miles so far and still look new .Good offroad in rocks, mud and sand. Very reasonably priced as well.

I have the dura tracs c load 265/75/16 only lost 1 mpg on average, IV put about 27k on them so far. I'm still really happy with them and would definitely recommend if you can get a good deal on them.

They do great off-road, I haven't been stuck once (Pismo dunes, big bear, Tahoe, oregon mountains).

On road, aside from daily driving they have taken me from NorCal - Oregon and NorCal - socal at least 6 times. Never had any passengers complain about road noise. I'm able to have conversations with my passenger at normal volume. Theyve done fine in rain and snow .

I also feel like the aggressive sidewall gives a much more noticeable appearance upgrade in the smaller sizes over the ko2's.

They are both solid tires, if you like the appearance equally I'd say go with which ever you can find a better deal on :spending:

If ALL you did was drive in mud, STT PRO is a great tire. They're loud as hell by 15k. They wear faster.

KO2s do a lot better than 1st gen KO2s in mud.

I was trying to decide between KO2s and Duratracs. I was going up a size to 265/75. I went with Duratracs since they were available in C load range in that size. I've only had them for about 200 miles tho. I like them so far. They hum above 65 mph. Below that they're mostly inaudible. We'll see if they get louder. I used to drive a soft top Jeep with mud tires though so it may not bug me. Not absolutely sure on loss in mpg, but based on numbers so far I'm guessing it's 0.5-1 mpg. I baby it though

I use KO2's because my Dad works at Michelin and I get 30% off on top of whatever other deal a tire shop might be pushing. However, he's only allowed 2 sets a year and my other 2 brothers beat me to the punch once. So I tried the Falken A/T3W's and I really liked that tire. I'll stick with the BFG's since I continue to get the discount. Without the discount, I wouldn't hesitate to buy the Falken's.

Just had the same dilemma and I went with the Toyo Mts and man they are gnarly. Good sound on the road lets em know a truck is coming. Serious bite from these rascals too.

I went with the Falken AT3W and they are amazing. It feels, rides and handles like an entirely new truck and they look bad ass.

How are tires like the general grabber atx and dick cepek for daily driving though? On the road, in the rain etc? I usually buy Cooper all terrains but found a deal on Yokohama GO15s so may do that instead.

I have had KO2'S, ST Maxx, and now the Dick Cepek EXP all in E load.
The KO2'S were ok, but really sucked in anything that even looked like mud and the wet weather traction really got bad after about 25k. They were very abrupt and rough riding (34F/30R psi).

The St Maxx probably has one of the best tread designs on the market, low noise, great off-road traction, good wet weather performance. They still ride pretty stiff, but not as bad as the KO2'S. They are heavy and I could really feel it in the overall performance of my truck. If I did hard core off-road trails they would have stayed on my truck.

The Dick Cepek EXP has a tread design that's close to the ST Maxx and the overall performance is very similar but without the weight penalty. I was surprised at how much better my truck performed when dropping 6lbs of rotational mass from each wheel. The sidewall is really stout for a two ply tire and is plenty for my type of use.
The EXP is quiet and rides so much better than the KO2'S or the ST Maxx.
    Done!
