You can get one that flips up, but not flips down. You will probably have to go with Scoche dash kit. The Crutchfield one is pretty deep.

I have a Crutchfield install kit and a Pioneer DEH-P7800MP. It is a great head unit with incredible sound (even through the stock speakers), but the iPod interface stinks.

My next head unit will either be an up-to-date Pioneer, Kenwood, or Alpine. I might try Eclipse but we will see...

Ah, who am I kidding, I love my deck! :D

It folds out so you can insert a dvd/cd, has blue tooth and I love the incredible ipod controls.. I can listen and watch anything on my ipod no problem. There are some things I don't like about it, like the Nav graphics are pretty lame, and the EQ controls kinda suck but all in all I'm very happy with it.... Kenwood DNX7100

Hahaha thats awesome! That movie sounds sooooooooo good in my truck!!!

Before choosing your head unit ask yourself some questions.
    1. Will I be adding optional items; IPOD, Sat or HD radio etc.
    2. Will I be adding an amp(s) or sub(s)?
    3. Do I need a NAV or just a nice head unit?

Planning is a major importance. Most folks are brand specific only because it is what they have used. If you do your homework, most head units have a lot of the same components. It is all about the features for what you want.
For example, if you know you are going to add some components and a sub . . your head unit should have at least a high pass filter. If you are an audio nut jub and want to run active, your head unit should be able to run active crossovers. Some amps do this for you already.

Next your head unit should have the correct number of low voltage output and the ability to turn off the internal amp for the best SQ.

Most folks confuse VOLTS & WATTS. Your line outputs (speaker) are measured in watts, your signals are measured in volts.

I could go on forever, the point is plan ahead before you buy a head unit.

BTW, the IPOD control on the Alpine is probably the best out right now. I like the Alpine head units with the percentage search. When you have 18K songs on your IPOD, it makes ALL the difference in the world. I have owned and tested, Sony, Pioneer, Kenwood and Alpine ipod interfaces. Have not found one that touches the Alpine interface.

Not saying Alpine is the best , because for SQ there are some head units that are much better, but for 98% of users the Alpine units will satisfy in the sound department. IN the Nav arena . . . I don't have enough hands on to comment, but look for the SQ features if you are planning a good system.

I have a sony cd player i bought from best buy and it has an aux input in the front, which i use to plug my zune into(will work for ipod). Also i think you can plug the sirius into the aux port too. I have one in my 03 tacoma and my mom has one in her 02 sequoia and it sounds really good in both and I like the controls on the cd player.

Alpine has a great quality product with the best connection for your ipod in my mind. You can also use any satellite radio with them.

    Alpine for the win!!!

LOL you live in Germany and are buying audio stuff from here? All the people I have talked to say that Germany is some sort of mecca for high-end audio. I'd see about talking to some local places.
