Build the patio bigger than you think you want it, and definitely make sure it is strategically placed where the pup will track the most.

We added about 500sq ft and I wish I would've gone a bit bigger. Also the dog's "launch point" should have been covered as well. No way I will ever grow grass in that spot now.

 

Building the base to a small/cheap kitchen table today.

 

Found a pebble stuck in the self propelled belt. Had this mower almost 8yr now and hasn’t had any major issues so time for some in-depth TLC (replacing belt and wheel bearing since I have it apart). One of the bearings is shot and the hat part of it came off the rest of it.

Oh and don’t have much use for the smaller jack stands anymore so put them to use

 

Got the old cast iron tub out, removed the vanity and toilet, and removed the old decking material.
Luckily the unit next door is vacant so the tenant and his sons can use it’s bathroom for now.

 

Man that there is a cornucopia of plumbing...

 

Yeah, apparently the old landlord liked to “fix” things himself and then after he “fixed” it and it didn’t work he would call a professional. I would hate to hear the stories the walls could tell, this was the second time in just a few years that the flooring has been pulled up, there was a mis match of materials in the 5x8 space that we’re redoing now, and as you can see they didn’t use blue pex for the cold water supply on the cold tub faucet

Found some discoloration of the vinyl flooring the other day, which ended up leading to a much bigger problem. Luckily the issue was contained to just this area and never leaked through to the kitchen ceiling downstairs.

thankfully it wasn’t worse and not nearly as the bathroom gut job a few posts up but all because the builder didn’t use a $2 flang!

Yes and that was part of the problem. The builder didn’t install one, just put in a wax ring, and sitting it crooked probably didn’t help either.

 

Yeah, that’s something that they’re working on today.

Why do people have to be so cheap and lazy

 

Does it even qualify as lazy if you just take two seconds to add it as your installing?

No offense to anyone here but more and more I see half ass work with builders. Around here it seems to be with foundation prep. Lots of sand stone here. We have one development that has sinking foundations. Which was one we actually looked at when we bought, thank god we didn’t. Then another that has an irrigation ditch up the hill. Ditch is leaking, builders say it’s not on them, ditch says it’s not on them, meanwhile homes have basements with literal holes in their walls with dirt pouring in.

 

Because the cheap a$$ builder wants that extra $.99. Why would a "plumber" BEND plastic pipe to 90*?? Yup, they did that to the pipe for the spigot in my back wall.

This is why I do as much of my own work as possible. I might not be as fast as a "pro", but when I get done, it's done right.

 

Yea, and no offense, but so do a lot of subs down here. I got shanked on deck job that I’ll be going to lawyer but finally finished deck that I paid someone else to do. Took me off my plans for past month.
I swear most people these days just suck period.
