My hunting/fishing baby!! Probably never sell her, but IF I were to... What's a fair price (USD)?

    Because everyone on the net is an expert as most things, including appraisals, I will pass along a few details;

2003 Tacoma, ~170,000mi, 4x4, diff lock, abs. Has it all except sunroof. Manual Transmission.
    Timing belt/water pump just done.
New front and rear bearings installed.
New clutch about 2 years ago.. maybe 7000miles ago.
Front end gone through, bearings/balljoints etc.. All is toite :)
New front axles (only replaced for fresh boots). They are not Toyota but whatever high end Napa provides- cant remember the name.
New 33x12.5R15 Duratracs on American Racing steelies.
Toytec Boss #600 shocks front (one recently replaced), and OME leafs in rear.
Guy I bought from removed the front valence- I don't care for the look but put a receiver/winch mount up front with power cables tucked behind bumper.

Sheesh with all the repairs sounds like I beat it up. I assure you this is one of the most well looked after tacos you'll find. Like I said, it's my baby! There is a catch though. If not timed right (#amateurs) 2nd gear will grind when shifting from 1st. The synchos will need to be replaced eventually (or tranny replacement).unnamed.jpg

That shifting stickiness or notchiness might go away with some fresh manual tranny oil that's like a Syncromesh, I'm not manual tran, but there is an oil people like here for that exact reason
Edit: looks like redline MT oil is what they like here on the forum

Got the rear diff lock? No TRD decals on side of bed? Repaint?

Congrats on being the first keyboard warrior. I'm surprised at how quick that was.

I'm not sure to tell you the truth. It does have the rear locker but I'm unaware of it being repainted or in an accident. According to my insurance/registration Silver is the original color.

Or someone removed the decals. Not common, but some do. Is it a TRD model? Have you thrown the VIN in one of those Toyota sites to see what the original spec or options was/are? Some say that you could order the truck as NON-TRD and still get the rear diff lock as an option.
When you engage the diff lock switch can yiu tell it engages and functions correctly?

just a heads up, sometimes the rough shifting between gears is due to a bad shifter bushing in the shifter assembly...pretty easy to change out and only a $15 part or so. I've seen a lot of cases on here where people thought their transmission was toast and then a new bushing solves the issue.

Also as @cruiserguy mentioned, Redline MT90 manual transmission oil makes these transmissions shift buttery smooth. But the fact that it's especially notchy/grinding in 1st - 2nd makes me think it might be the bushing

I too have done a lot of front end work especially on my truck, about the same list of parts as yours, and still under 90k miles. I think it shows that you take care of it enough to know when something needs replaced rather than running it into the ground (literally, if a ball joint were to fail that is).

I'd be more afraid of buying a 15+ year old truck that still has all original parts on it that were never serviced

Hell yeah, it is a TRD. If you set up an ad make sure the TRD is in your title, my friend. you'll get more interest as well as more moolah for it, being TRD. Some may doubt because no decals on truck bed but you've got the official info from Toyota, so that's cool

Good point man, you'd know better than I would. And I totally spaced the bushing, so I'm glad you mention it. His symptoms do sound like the bushing should be checked fo sho

Didn’t catch where you are located- it makes a difference. Frame replaced or treated or southern?

..unless its rot, Id say minimum 10k. Enthusiasts and passionates would quickly snatch it up for around there.
    12/13 max.
