Updating security at the new house and I ran across these Wyze cams, they’re very budget friendly and seem to integrate well with IFTTT protocol.
Do any of you have experience with them?

Interested to see where this goes. Been looking for a camera or two in the apartment to watch the fur babies and keep the neighbors honest. These look almost too good to be true with that price tag. I feel like there's gotta be a catch or something that I'm missing but they definitely look like contenders in my search.

Stuff to make it more springy and bouncy... but less crashy...
I have them all over my house. The motorized and non motorized. They work great. You won’t be sorry.

Do you have any of their other products like the Wyze Sense or bulbs?

From the YouTube videos I’ve watched they seem to be very good options, $25 for the camera and $5 for a housing to use them outdoors. The downside is requiring USB 5V power.

I think I’m mainly interested in the non-motorized, I would rather have 2 cameras overlap/cover each other than motorized with a sensor to cause it to check outside of its “seeing” area.

They do come with a power adapter though which is nice. I'm gonna have to look into it more here in a few when I get home from work but I'm liking what I've read so far.

I'm going to look into these, I now have a belkin indoors and every time there's a small blip in power, it has to be rebooted. Plus it only saves the video for 1 day.
Outdoors I have a Ring doorbell camera, fantastic, but also $250. It reboots itself by the way.

So, I spoke with the Fiancee and did some more research. I'm going to order a couple of these for the apartment.

I ordered 2 cameras, 2 white outdoor enclosures, 2 32GB Micro SD cards, and 2 25’ power cords for $87.30, I’ll get them Tuesday and maybe get one setup inside and one outside.
One of our new neighbors is apparently deathly afraid of dogs larger than a chihuahua so the neighbors super friendly and timid pit bull got loose and “charged him” (if you look at that dog wrong it won’t come within 20 feet) and our lab/shepherd mix “broke down” a fence board (damaged by a tree that was growing against it and then we cut it down) trying to “get to” his little dog.
I’ll feel better with a camera watching the fence.

If you're building a system from scratch, I found Amcrest to be very easy to set up. Use either their DVR or an SD card instead of their cloud service as that isn't the most stable. Also why would someone upload their security camera video to a cloud storage device? Most of these systems are Chinese...

I’ve had one set up since the day I got them, I just set up the second one tonight, wall mounted to watch the front door/living room area, and moved the first one to look at the back porch area where the dogs food and water.
At some point I’ll get the camera set up outside like I originally planned.

I’m very happy with these so far, still rocking the 2 originals and ordered 2 of the black models as well, installed one of the black ones outside facing the front door/driveway area because the neighbors on that side are getting sketchy again (hand to hand drug transactions) and we’ve been getting more parcels than normal lately.

Installed under the eve in the housing, wire runs into the attic and then down into the closet of the office to an outlet. All I have to do is put some wood putty or silicone to seal the hole tomorrow.

Still very happy with the cameras, I still have one to setup but I’ve been lazy because I want to set it up outside.
I installed the Wyze Lock on our front door today and I think we will really like it, I also spent the little bit extra and got the keypad.

I also got the Wyze Sense starter kit (2 magnetic sensors and a motion sensor) and attempted to install a magnetic sensor on my gun safe door and unfortunately I couldn’t get it configured (mechanically) to work with my safe as the door is inset too much on the face for the sensor to ride on the outside and it protrudes past the framing on the inside, I’ll probably shave a 2x4 to be a standoff of proper depth and have the magnetic sensor on the inside.

I ended up installing this sensor on one of the doors to the backyard so I can check to see if it’s open or closed via my phone.

I attempted to install the motion sensor in the safe and it’s claustrophobic, the confined space messes with the system and shows constant motion when the safe is closed and untouched, so I ended up installing the motion sensor above the doorway of the office.

i've got 6 of them setup around my house. 1 of them was an older model and the speaker has blown out on it, which seems to be a common occurrence based on other users out there. other than that, i love them. one tip that some may not know is you are able to add all of your cameras in a group so you can view them all simultaneously.

I forgot that I also have 2 of the plugs, one is installed as a switch for my box fan to come on every night at 22:00, the other plug I haven’t found a use for because we don’t use very many items that plug into the wall.
I also have a Wyze bulb installed over the range, I really like it.

Glad to hear of your positive experience, thanks for the tip also, that should be useful!

Still rocking with the V2 cams, one of the outdoor cams setup indoors (brick blocks the wireless signal so I have to run an Ethernet line to the shed), the Wyze lock has been extremely handy and I’ve only had to replace the batteries once, it seems like once every 6 months gives a bit of safety buffer for battery life.
I also finally found a use for the 2nd Wyze plug, I set it up to be the timer for my brass tumbler for reloading so I can just set it for 2 hours and then forget about it.

I bought one camera to keep an eye on my dog while I'm gone and then added another one that views the driveway. The outdoor cam is a little annoying because the angle it is at to view the porch and driveway also catches a little bit of the road in the detection area. No matter how I adjust the sensitivity it seems to alert me to just about every car going by.

Moved away from Wyze over to Nest/Google, however, I still have a scale and the vacuum preorder just shipped.

Mostly have the outdoor and my V2s for just messing around. Don't want to have to rely on them for anything.
