What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

The vinyl really changes the look of those wheels.

 

Did my first ever 'mod'...added a Tyger T3 Tri-Fold bed cover. I know it isn't the biggest mod, but I'm just happy I was able to do it myself. I never did anything to my last truck..so this time around I wanted to start doing some things to really make it my own! Many more to come though lol

 

Ordered ajt vent rings and cupholder trim in cement and blackout vinyl for my wheels. Thanks Xfinity, I used a promo gift card I just got from signing up.

It's always fun working on our Tacomas!

Small modifications, new raptor style lights, black emblem overlays from quickkap, and TRD shift knob.

Next on the list is the TRD skid plate.

 

Was able to get a decent wash on Charlie Brown getting all the road salt off!

 

Nice truck but it looks a little 2012ish

 

pulled the door panels and did some sound deadening and speaker upgrades. got the tweeters done also. will be pulling the rear seats and doing the rear of the cab this week hopefully. will get some pics when I can find a new hosting site I like.

Installed Total Chaos Bed Stiffeners. Quick and easy. Very nice construction!
As a bonus, now I have an easy spot to mount a flag/whip for desert season!

I've got the same. Despite the critics my bed was not exactly square to start, but now is square and stays solidly square. I hated drilling holes in my new truck, but it was worth it.

So this week I decided to add some hood struts to the Tacoma, because why not? I ordered my hood struts from Redline Tuning, fast shipping, great product and a fairly straight forward install. However, if you have made other modifications under your hood of your 3rd gen Tacoma, the install might not go as smoothly as you expect.

What I did not realize prior to install, is that the passenger side strut would have to fall directly over my new K&N intake air box in order to close properly. I did not find this out until after the install was complete. Minor (sketchy) modifications were neccessary to get my hood to close with these new struts.

Here is my review video of my experience. Hopefully this will help save some headaches and frustrations for future installers with after market air intakes.

 

Just a suggestion. I added a 3/4" foam pipe wrap on the bars to provide some protection to the bars as well as fill in the gap between the bars and the vinyl top so there would be no flapping at highway speeds.

 

The dealer probably keeps the SD cards out of their new stock to prevent pilfering and in your case neglected to put a card back in when you purchased your truck. Sounds like you paid for something you didn’t get. They will likely realize their error when you bring it to their attention.
