    Not in our weather. Winters are brutal on chrome. Gotta keep is polished and protected from all of the salt and chemicals on the roads.
    Black plastic....just a good scrub down with a magic eraser and all is good.

    Thanks! It's blue and it will haul pretty much whatever camper I want. Still would have preferred a Tundra but I'd rather compromise on the vehicle and get the camper that I really want.

    Its not often that one can say that they got everything they wanted and more when shopping for used cars. I was looking for 3/4 ton Chevys. Low miles was a must - only 27k on a 2017! Still had my heart set on a blue truck.... so this showed up at a local dealer and the heated leather (always wanted leather seats) and remote start (gonna be so nice on cold winter mornings) pretty much sold me. has all the bells and whistles to boot. There's a feature in the truck that records the best MPG on record...when I bought it it was showing 17.6. I've got it up to 21.8! Not bad for a quad cab long bed! Its a beast and I still haven't quite got the hang of parking it. Roads seem so tiny, I was flinching yesterday when I passed another full size truck on the roads in Yellowstone.

    You'll get use to it. At least you didn't do like an intern did in my work truck. He was so intimidated, every time he had opposing traffic, he'd get the right side of the truck over the fog line and into the dirt to pass....just keep it between the lines.

    I have the blind spot mirrors focused on the ground, eye on keeping it between the lines. I do fine on city roads and interstates but Yellowstone roads aren't exactly up to current specs for width...no shoulder on top of that. But I gotta learn and build up my nerve if I'm going to put a camper on top of this thing! I also have the turning radius of the USS Saratoga...

    Where the hell did my daylight go? Anyway, trying a new thing tonight on the grill. Chicken breasts with a Greek yogurt, cumin, turmeric, garlic, lemon (juice and zest), Sriracha, cilantro and avocado oil marinade. Looks odd but the smell and taste are really something.

    The only things that disappointed me about Runner when I bought him were no remote start and no heated seats. Now I've got that and more.
    Still going to be sad to see Runner go. He's been a good travel buddy... meeting with another possible buyer tomorrow... :(

    And no lift. Putting a camper on the back is going to F up the center of gravity enough as it is, I don't want (and dont need) to lift if. Airbags, maybe, to handle the load but I want to wait and see what camper I end up with first.

    And there are no dirt roads in Yelly. Well, a few, but they aren't anything to worry about. There's plenty of dirt and plenty of camping in store for Chevy and I!

    Runner's gotta go bye bye. Kinda sad if I must admit. Had a tear in my eye when I was typing up the CL and TW posts. I wish I could keep him but if I want a camper (and I do) he's gotta go...selling Runner fund the camper purchase. We've had 85K + miles of awesome travels together.

    He had about 55k when I got him....6k to/from work for the last two years adds up fast. Add in all of the camping and national park adventures and you get 85k. Aside from fluids and filters the only thing to ever need any attention on the damn thing was a brake light that burned out in July! :laugh: Not a bad run.

    I tried to price him fairly. Brakes and suspension will be due for some attention soon, by 150k. All other maintenance is done. I don't like to take chances with all of the middle of nowhere travel I do.

    Also, a local dealer has a 2013 Runner with 220k for $15k...figure that's gonna help me sell Runner faster.

    My 08 Sierra had separate heat controls for the seat bottom and back. Got to admit that on the days where the back was achy the heated seat back was nice. Oh and I miss the heated steering wheel too.
