Security and fit of snug top hi liner sport

Hi, can anyone with a snug top let me know if the gap between the back glass and tailgate is normal? I'm pretty sure I can slide my hand up it to push the interior lever up to unlock it. I just got it installed yesterday and am regretting it because you can literally take a stick and push up the lever from outside to open the back glass...
I've reached out to snugtop customer service to see if this is normal.

 

That is not normal. I have a cab high Snug on my X-Runner and you can't get your hand past the fiberglass part on the bottom of the back glass (I just went out in the garage and tried). I am sure if I knew exactly where the release was I could slip a slim jim or something similar in there and hit the latch but not a hand.

To me it looks like the shell needs to be slid forward on the truck a bit or the catches for the back hatch shimmed to pull it in a bit tighter when closed.

 

My snug top rebel does not look like that.
