I have swapped my stock SR5 axle with an TRD Offroad locked axle, all it needed was an aftermarket switch to make the locker engage. Was pretty simple to do, just need to find a locked TRD offroad axle and buy the switch.

Seat covers,Bed liner spray(can't put a scratch in it) currently pricing diff.lockers with heavy duty pumpkin gears. Lastly winch w low profile bumper
Great! So it’s basically swapping a base axle &3rd member for a TRD off roading axle and 3rd member w lockers ,plus the electrical for the switch. Thanks ! As much as I trust the FSM and dealer parts guys, nothing beats hearing it from someone who has done the surgery.

Yeah man its not that hard at all. Had a couple friends that knew what they were doing to help out and it was a fairly painless process.

I thought i had more but my build page is littered with broken image links.... i guess that is what i get for relying on the internet to host my photos...

This is the switch that you will need to buy. Its pretty bright and its a halogen bulb so it does get a little warm.

I don’t think you understand that he wants to use all OEM parts.

Yeah i think that he is really just trying to make it look like nothing has been changed to keep the warrenty... Im pretty sure that he can get away with just the switch, he can also remove the switch inside the cab when he takes it to the dealer for safe measure. I mean it would have to take a keen eye to spot an aftermarket plug on that rear diff. Everything else will be Toyota OEM still

Aftermarket plug on the rear diff?? There’s a whole motor there.

The Zac of all trades needs buddies to do a simple remove and replace/plug and play and the 40 year ASE master tech asking these questions is beyond me.

It’s the craziest plan I’ve heard of. Makes zero sense. Just Install a tru-Trac then pull it out before sale, or leave it in. The installation/removal is invisible.

what year is the truck? How does he still have a warranty anyways?
