    1999 Tacoma PreRunner TRD
    Hi All,

About three months ago I had an issue starting my 1999 Tacoma 3.6L PreRunner TRD. Each time I tried to start the truck, the starter fuse (not sure if that's the right term, its the 7.5A fuse in the instrument panel fuse box) would blow. I replaced the fuse and tried probably about five times and each time it would blow. Brought it to a shop and they said it was due to an aftermarket alarm system that I never used, but someone put in before I bought it. I wasn't quite convinced, but it started fine for a few months. Then about a week ago the same issue came up. On the 5th fuse I tried in a row it started up just fine. It hasn't happened again in a week of normal driving, but I'd like to get ahead of it so it doesn't happen next time when I'm out camping in the woods or something. Any ideas of where I could start before bringing it back into the shop?

    Cheers!
