I keep seeing this one while watching NFL - where a gently tossed football bounces off the edge of a Tundra tailgate ...like we are to be impressed that it can withstand the blow? Seriously?

Was it parked near salt water and the frame didn’t rust? :anonymous:

I'll definitely be more impressed when they advertise that all their new frames come standard hot dipped galvanized.

Did the clear coat peel off where the football touched it?

If yota galvanized the frames they would never sell trucks to repeat buyers because these would last 50 years.

Product of that timeframe's 'extreme' type attitude found in many commercials. I'm guessing that was from late-90s / early-2000s when everything used to be layed back.

When Ford is selling $75K V6 Raptors and GMC has an entire ad campaign about their folding tailgate? Lol, Toyota is not the only one out of touch.

Those kinds of commercials drive me nuts. How many commerciaks out there say absolutely nothing about the product itself? They just show people smiling and laughing. Companies gear their commercials to the general public. Most of the public are unfortunately pretty damn lame nowadays to say the least.
So lame commercials are perfectly suited for most people.
    Drives me nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like finding old old ads from the first half of the 1900s in newspapers and stuff. They actually explained what products did and how they were better than the competition (although so many of them were snake oil )

These days, it's all about tugging at your emotions, getting you to feel a certain way, and showing you how to fit in. And it's not just advertising.

I'd love to see the old style magazine ads for the new trucks. Now those were cool.

When I sold my 1st gen and '87 4Runner, the sale included the window sticker, the dealer sales brochure and some magazine ads. I love that stuff!
