The braking system on an OR/pro is different. IIRC it is hydro boost vs vacuum assist.

    **2500 MILE UPDATE**

I have had the truck now for about 3 weeks and I have put about 2500 miles on it. I have about 80% highway miles due to my daily commute to work. At this point I have zero complaints. I really like this new truck.

At this point with my 2018 I was wondering what was wrong with its throttle response, crazy shifting on the highway and had some buyers remorse due to these problems. I can honestly say, this 2020 displays none of the issues my 2018 had.

    - Highway driving is great and is the most noticeable improvement from my 2018. Traveling at 70mph-75mph, with or without cruise control, there is no gear hunting at all. The truck holds 5th and 6th gear VERY well, only jumps to 4th when needed and up shifts as one would expect when cresting an incline. The truck also predictably downshifts when throttle is applied to pass. No more 6th-5th-6th-4th-6th dance my 2018 always did at highway speeds. Overall, a MUCH more enjoyable highway driving experience than my stock 2018.

    - Throttle response in general is improved from my 2018. The throttle on my previous truck always had this weird disconnected feeling, poor response to input and required A LOT of input to down shift. This 2020 has none of that. The throttle feels great with no strange disconnected feeling and requires much less input to modulate vehicle speed and down shifting.

    - The LED headlights are amazing. I've received many questions and compliments on them. They should be standard on all Tacoma models. They are huge improvement over the halogen units and well worth the cost. If you get a 2020 truck, get the headlights.

    - Apple Car Play is great. I wasn't sure I would care much for it but I love it now that I've been using it.

    - The power adjustable seat has made my commuting so much more comfortable. I've gotten the seating position exactly where it should be for me. The non-adjustable seat in my 2018 was never perfect and would become uncomfortable on extended trips.

    - Small things I really like:
    - The new remote start feature is super handy.
    - The bed lights on this truck are great. They are super bright and I've very happy my truck had this option. 100% would recommend.
    - The head unit allows the user to select whether or not the A/C automatically activates when the HVAC system is on. I personally love that I can set this to OFF and not have the A/C compressor activate anytime the system is turned on.

Do you find that you can get in and out of the truck without ducking with the new seats? Maybe this is a height issue with me but I have to duck quite a bit to fit in the truck. Curious if the new seats eliminate this for some (me).

I found this weird too, I have never had an issue getting in and out. But when I showed off the truck to my dad he had a hell of a time getting in the drivers side and hes only 6 ft. I didnt think there would be a massive difference as I'm 5 10 and can practically jump behind the wheel. It doesnt effect me, but I've seen others have difficulty getting in and out of the truck.

I am 6'2" and have to bend my neck pretty good to get in. If I sit on the edge of the seat, my head sits above the door opening a good 2-3". I sat in my wife's CRV and I can sit right in without problems.

I am thinking of my future as I age....

So with the 2020’s new seats, do you have more headroom or less headroom?

You pick. The seat has vertical adjustment.

I guess what I was getting at is, if you lower the 2020 seat to it’s lowest point, do you have more or less headroom than a Tacoma with the old manual seat?

assuming you are comparing, non sunroof to non sunroof and sunroof to sunroof.

You have more head room as the seat can be lowered to a position lower than the non-electric seat.

    nice.

one of the reasons I didn’t get a sunroof truck was due to the lack of room

I didn't think it would make much of a difference but it did. Just went from a 2018 to a 2020 and when I bought the 18 I couldn't get it with the sunroof because my head was against the ceiling in my normal driving position (i'm 6'3). Now in the 20 (w/ sunroof) with the seat all the way down I have about 2" of headroom. Plus I can tilt the front of the seat up for more leg support.

Also I still have to bend my neck a bit getting into it but its not nearly as bad as the '18 was. But overall much better truck, just seems more refined, I swear the engine is quieter but it could just be my imagination.
