Four wheel drive seems to be still engaging with the transfer case shifter but the damn light is not working on the dash. I've never had a dash light burn out. Anyone here have any thoughts on how to fix this without ripping out the whole dash?

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
Are you referring to the one in the cluster?

Sorry, you're going to need to remove the cluster to change the bulb.

Does the light come on during the bulb check?

I'll have to check that out if it does or not.

During bulb check, only the lights on the left side seem to be working. During bulb check and with the transmission in park, when I shift the transfer case shifter to neutral the letters "A/T P" appear lit up on the dash on the right side. But, if the transmission is in neutral, that doesn't appear. I know that the transmission has to be in neutral to shift into 4LO but what does "A/T P" mean?

A/T Park warning light. It just lets you know that the transfer case is in neutral.

A couple of weeks ago we had to go to a funeral and the cemetary was up a steep gravel road. I pull the shifter to 4HI so I wouldn't spin any gravel on anyone behind me. That's when I noticed the light was not working. I just have a feeling this winter my wife, who is the main driver of this vehicle, will be leaving it in 4HI when it doesn't need to be because she won't see the light anymore.
