I have some questions.

Is this plug and play for the 2020 Tacoma manual transmission v6 TRD off road 4x4?

Will the cell start capability require a subscription? I'm clueless how this works.

With the cell start, is there a visual confirmation that the engine started?

What is the procedure for starting the truck? Is there a sequence when exiting the vehicle and then cannot open doors again etc?

Picking up a 2020 with 6 speed manual tomorrow and would like remote start. Thank you.

 

You should private message(start a conversation) with Jeremie. He'll answer all your questions. In the meantime I maybe able to answer some of your questions. I believe all his kits are plug and play. The cell start will require a subscription, first year is free, renewal is $39 a year or 3 years for $99. Visual confirmation is shown on the phone app, which also shows how many minutes are left on the startup, doors locked or unlocked, GPS location of your vehicle, & battery voltage. If you purchase the cell module you can lock/unlock/start/kill your engine wherever you have service/wifi to your cell phone. If you use your keyfob, you'll press lock 3 times and remote smart will engage. Note, remote start will shutoff if any doors are open.

 

Thanks for stepping in to answer some Qs. Do you know if this kit plugs into the OBD port at all? I believe pedal commander uses that port, so just thinking ahead. Also, do you know if there is a special sequence when exiting the vehicle to ready the remote start?

 

The kit I purchased from him doesn't plug into my OBD port. The only special sequence is to push the lock on the keyfob 3 times and it starts? The range on our fobs are crappy so I purchased the cell version so I can start with my phone anywhere.

 

Sweet. The special sequence I've seen for some brands are something like this...clutch, neutral, set hand brake, foot off brake, turn off key, exit vehicle and cannot open door again or it won't remote start next time you try.

Anyway, back to the subject. Push to starts with cell on sale $325, basic 3x pts is $180.

 

It's actually T harnessed into the OBD. So you can still plug something into the plug.

Received my Tacoma 3x with cell kit Monday after ordering it Friday. Got it installed last night. Very simple install! Taking the panel below the steering wheel loose and wire routing takes the longest. Actual electronics install takes like 5-10 minutes. Because I am picky it took me an hour. Everything works great! Jeremie was awesome to work with. Shipping was very quick. Definitely worth the money!

Do you know if I remote start the truck with the app and it starts successfully...then if I press the remote start button again will it do anything? Sometimes in the morning the truck doesn't start via the app just shows a red icon (failed) but I always get scared to keep trying in the off chance it actually did start.
