I have been quoted anywhere from $480 to $600. Thought about doing it myself but I really don't have a good spot to do it in.
The timing belt, water pump, thermostat, cost between 750 and 1000 and if I get the cam and crank seal done at the same time it adds another 200ish.
I still have a few places to check into but if anyone knows a good shop in or around Portland Oregon that won't overcharge me I would surely appreciate a recommendation.

My new-to-me 2003 TRD V6 4WD with 246k miles is getting similar treatment. My mechanic is thorough and so he's doing the timing belt, water pump, valve cover gaskets, spark plugs and wires. It's setting me back more than I wanted, but I feel like I got the truck for a good price and I knew about the timing belt and suspected other issues due to a bit of oil on the engine. Good luck finding a good mechanic out west. They are important to have!
