Hey folks! My 2014 4.0 trd sport Tacoma has 100,000 km on it and sometimes when I let it sit for a couple hours it will be very hard to start occasionally. It cranks and cranks unless I crack once turn the key off and then try again. It usually starts on the second try but still cranks for a while. The truck runs great when running. I have just replaced the plugs and problem still consists. Any input would be appreciated

Once you start it up, if you turn it off, and then start it back up, does it fire right up?

I had this happen on one of my old trucks.... It was the check valve in the fuel pump that was losing pressure if it would sit for a while. If you cycled the key a couple times before trying to start it (to prime the fuel pump) it would fire right up.

The battery seems to have great power. Truck cranks like she did off the lot. Definitely don’t believe it’s the battery. Are you saying the oem batteries are week and I should try an after market one ?

I have also noticed it doesn’t seem to happen when I run 91 in it. Unless i was just lucky. The truck seems to run better in general when I run 91 instead of 87
