On my old TRD Off-Road, the garnish was purchased off of a dealer here on TacomaWorld but I had purchased a factory OEM TRD PRO Grill on the cheap. I purchased a faux PRO grill for $80 shipped this time for my new Tacoma, there's plenty of vendors on ebay claiming to be OEM but I highly doubt they are OEM.

The modifying that you had to do, was it in the visible edges or in the areas that you cannot see?

The reason I was curious about OEM VS faux garnish is because it's a sensor that goes behind it so I was thinking maybe the original OEM material might be some dark transparent polymer and the fake ones may just be cheap plastic.

I only had to modify clips on the back to make it fit. Nothing exterior you could see.

I must be living under a rock... So many posts from A-Z on this Toyota Grill.. I love mine and love seeing all of them on the road OEM or not. Toyota should just make it part of the Sport and up and call it good. They make the truck look soo much better..

Not sure why they don't just give people what they want. All models should have a black grill and black badges with the exception of the limited which caters to the older crowd, they probably don't even off road their vehicles or care about badges at all so chrome isn't a problem for them.
