There is an interesting documentary on Netflix right now, about the baseball card business. Who knew the whole thing was built on outright thievery???

Morning TTC. I wanted to share my experiences of this last weekend with you all.

My son is a member of the drumline in his highschool marching band here in Burleson. This year is a State Contest year, so we've been at a marching competition every Saturday since the 28th of September. It's been a looooong season for sure! Two weeks ago our band qualified for State by WINNING the regional contest, two things that have never happened at our school before. This last weekend/first part of the week was the State contest in San Antonio's Alamo dome. We came down late Friday night after the Seniors had their Senior walk for the last Home Football game. The Band competed Saturday morning in a Band's Of America event that we knew we wouldn't make finals for, but it turned out to be an excellent experience. The big Dome sounds much diffewrent than the open air stadiums we've competed in all season, so it was great for the kids to get a run inside the building so they would be better prepared for the first run on Monday. Monday's run was excellent, the kids nailed it! Keep in mind, we've never been here before. Later that night were the results and announcements for finals order. WE QUALIFIED FOR FINALS! Not only that, but we heard we had landed in 4th place. Our group performed Tuesday at 3 and absolutely left it all out there. I am no musician, and am still learning what to listen for, but it was perfect! We placed 5th overall in the State. I have never been more proud of a group of kids in my life. It's one thing to accomplish something yourself, but when you get to be a dad and you can watch your kids(I claim each and everyone of them after all this) work soooo hard, and succeed, it's so much better. Proud is not a strong enough word to express how I feel about these kids. It's been an emotional show named "A Pictures Worth". It's about finding an old photo album and the path of thought and feeling that comes along with the reliving of memories attached with the pictures. There are "judge blockers" along the front of the field for the kids to hid behind during different parts of the show. The band family was invited to upload special pictures that were then printed on those screens in a huge collage. The Color Guard flags had pictures of special family members for each of the girls on them for their final movement of the show. If I can figure out how to upload a link to the final performance I will, but for now, here's a few pictures I have.

Thanks for letting me share this. I'm a proud dad, and I love that my kid gets to do this.

I was thinking i might be able to find some cheap large pool noodles that i can attach to treated wood.
The yaks weigh roughly 120lbs fully loaded, i like the idea of rollers because that would make i very easy, but i would slide just fine on some outdoor carpet wrapped around some wooden 2x4s.

Typically i have the yak in the back of the truck, i back it down the boat ramp so that the tailgate is closer to the water when loading/unloading. Im just trying to avoid having to walk out waste deep into the water to get the yak in/out of the water. I think that with the trailer i can just back the trailer into the water, paddle the yak on/off the trailer, walk on trailer to access kayaks.

Congrats to your son and the Burleson band! As a former band nerd, I'd love to see the video if you can get it uploaded!
