My cousin bought a used late model GL450, which makes more sense than buying one new and financing because the whole "it loses half it's value when you drive it off the lot" BS has passed...

The BMW E36 seems to be a rare exception...

Those are easy to work on, and parts are plentiful and not horribly expensive.

Because if the 7.5k tax credit. (Same with Chevy volt). New car sticker 37k, 4k manufacturer cash plus negotiation and person pays 30k. Tax credit taken so effectively 22.5k = 40 percent depreciation at purchase. Even if purchase price was 33k plus tax credit = 31 percent depreciation when new. There can also be local tax credits/rebates from utilities. The depreciation percentage gets worse as the car gets less expensive. (A base leaf had msrp around 30k when 7.5k us a bigger portion of the total price).

My 2 door JK Rubi with way less options than my loaded out OR. Sticker same on both. Was worth 3k more than the taco after 15 months of owning both. Jk had crank windows. To trade. There isn’ta real strong pre owned market in the northeast for this 3rd gens. Hell the rare 2nd gens on the lots are selling the same or more than the third gens. There is a ton of low mileage 3rd gens by me. Like 12-15 around me. It’s the most common newer low mileage vehicle on lot’s by me. Hopefully in a year it’ll be worth better money when I trade it

I got my 17 in december with 7k miles.

I think alot of people buy them and realize its not for them and trade it.
I see alot of low mileage jeeps as well and I think you get similar issues.

Wrangler resale it excellent. Not sure why, but it is, still a very niche vehicle. I'll be curious to see if the Gladiator resale can keep pace with the Tacoma, that's a worthy comparison.

Think it’s the area. Thinking most trade out to go to a bigger truck since the taco is kinda useless with kids and stuff. And not the most trail worthy in New England since she’s to big to get most places or the jeep trails. I still wheel it’s but most the trails here are to technical for an IFS vehicle. Even the jeep truck is useless here. Since it’s to long also.

Where I'm working on a giant remodel, the parking lot is leased by Dodge, Jeep, Ram, and they fill the giant parking lot with all kinds of new vehicles. There's a nice looking Orange Rubicon unsure if it's "loaded" or not, but $52K and change. Whoa.

Well, it is a Tacoma forum.

Not like we, as Tacoma owners are spending time on the Jeep or Ranger forums talking about what POS vehicles they are.

Because that would be a douchebag thing to do imo...

They don't state the standard deviation in their average, so a point of percentage on high volume sales has to be assumed even...as in "the top 5 are all the same...plus, most jeeps suck so they took the hit at initial purchase price.

Unless it's a stick shift RC 5-lug, which unfortunately mine isn't...

My truck's sticker was like $17K, my dad paid a litter under $15K, and I'm confident that I could $9K for it right now (Not that I'd ever sell it).
