2014 Tacoma prerunner radio

My radio shuts down and comes back on, just started doing this a week ago. Now It actually did this when it was 4 months old. Anyway I had them do a reset and updated the radio. Anyone else having trouble?

I have the same year and the same problems. I have installed the update and nothing changed. I plan to go with an aftermarket head unit at some point so I don’t have to deal with it anymore

Man that sucks. They should have recalled the radio. I knew I wasn’t the only one with this problem. Hopefully an aftermarket radio isn’t too pricey.

Does it completely shut off or just cut in and out?

Mine will cut in and out when I’m using Bluetooth even if I’m playing something that I have downloaded.

 

In my case, the whole thing powers down and reboots. Sometimes it does it over and over several times, and a few times it froze up completely on just a white screen.

And the problem I have most often is that it kinda freezes while still playing Bluetooth. I can control the volume but not skip songs or pause. The only way I have found to solve that is to hold the power button down for a few seconds until it reboots.

 

Hmmm mine doesn’t do that, thankfully.

 

Welcome to TW! I often hear of others having this issue but the update usually fixes it.

 

hello. you simply have to turn the bluetooth off in vehicle and problem fixed. Reason is the iphone 13.1.2 screws it up. problem fixed.
