Can a manual trans Tacoma have a remote start?

Just picked up my new truck and was expecting a fob with push button and remote start. Had none although specs on line and dealer told me it would.

    Thanks for your input.

It doesn't look like the manuals come with the remote start, even though the specs/options page lists the remote start. If you click on the number by 'Remote Connect' (down in the option packages section) it says it's not available on the manual transmission.
    https://www.toyota.com/tacoma/features/exterior/7559/7560/7543

You would think that they'd take that feature out of the little blurb altogether for the manuals.

Edit: or easier, click on the number 53 after "More ways to manage your vehicle" on this page: https://www.toyota.com/connected-services/remoteconnect/

    Thanks so much.
The Canadian website does not have this at all. Disappointed as I love my 6 speed M.

We just finished testing HKEY AUTO and HKEY MANUAL, guess what...success. You can now purchase them for 2020 from us. Once again, first ones to make it available, and now first ones to make it available for 2020. Everything is still the same except depending on build date, your TPMS wire might be pink, location is the same though as before.

Here is our 2020 beta that successfully helped us, he can attest to it. Sending him a smart module as a reward.

    @gasdok

It can be purchased here, we ship to Canada too!

(I posted this on another thread)

After researching all of the boards, I finally decided to purchase a 2020 SWDC Off-Road with Manual. Before I took delivery, I contacted N2Designs about the Remote Start with a Manual as the 2020's were not listed on their website. The owner Jimmy got in touch with me to discuss. He told me that if I wanted to try it out, II would be the first 2020. We didn't know if there would be any differences, but he offered me his direct number to assist me with the install. Told me that if it didn't work, he'd return my money and also a gift card for my trouble.

The instructions & videos made installation very easy. Took me about 30 min to disassemble dash and wire the harness. He talked me through the module programming. Works exactly as described. For the starter to properly for it does require you to put the truck in "ready mode". Took me a few times to get this dance down, but now all is good! Highly recommend N2Designs mainly due to the excellent customer support.

Jimmy, appreciate the Smart Module! Totally not necessary, but it was great working with you on this project! Starter works great, and install was very straightforward! Definitely recommend!

    Jimmy,

I got mine and installed it the other day. The fob works great, but Im having trouble with the app. My app says test mode across the picture of the truck and I get an error message when I launch the app. Any advice?

    Thanks,

    Dave

Dave, did you buy the smart module or the RF fob kit? I thought you bought the 2-way fob kit and NOT the smart phone module...check your order and give me your order number.

I got the smart phone module. order #10798.

it worked when I installed it and tested both, but now it doesn't seem to work with the app. Do you think its a 4G signal issue? My coverage isnt great here, but it did the same thing down in town yesterday.

If it worked once, it works forever, no need to reprogram. You can check signal integrity in your app by clicking on the 3 bars at the top left to see if it's you or the servers. Second, you can logout of your app, and kill it and all apps running then sign back in and try. Finally, take a look at the unit, are the red and or green lights blinking? If so it's hunting for signal. That would be it. If it's not, you can unplug the module from the connector (1 row by 7 or 8 pin flat connector) that goes into the actual module for a minute and sign back in when the lights turn solid red and green.

Thanks Jimmy. I looked at my phone and the servers are green circle. I got a bug fix pushed to my phone and now it all looks normal. Thanks again
