I have a question for you all, does the rear of the truck sag a little with the weight of the camper?

 

Mine did. A little less than 1/2 inch. I have ARE V series, windoors and roof tracks.

 

I second @SWCOLO with a little less than 1/2". I've got ARE V series as well, barebone as they come. I didn't notice it by sight.

 

@gonzale20 I like where your dealer installed your topper clamps. Mine are 10-12" from the corners and get in the way. But my cap (same as yours) has defined places where the clamp bolts go so I cannot move them. I wonder why the difference between the two caps.

 

Is your rear lock automated?

 

No.

 

For everyone out there with an ARE topper, my MX was spreading out at the rear about 1/2" on each side and perfect up front. I fixed that by pushing it into position on one side, clamping it down, and then shoving the absolute fuck out of it from the outside on the other side until it came into position (I ended up bracing myself against a wall and putting my whole body into it, pushing out with my legs. My wife clamped that side down, and it's now perfectly flush front and back. It's a complete hassle, but worth it to get a good fit.

My ARE MX leaked at first; the front window was defective. They fixed it fast under warranty. After that, the front part of the bed leaked. It was the bed, not the topper. ARE still fixed it and helped out. I was happy with the support they provided, and the cap is rock-solid and fully waterproof now.

My ass sagged so bad until I put in Dakar springs. I have an MX top, a loaded up toolbox, and a plate rear bumper. Between those three I was literally riding on the bumpstops on the factory springs.

 

My topper still looks the same as it did new. Hopefully it stays that way.
I had to install sumosprings, but I have my Dakars sitting on my garage floor waiting to be installed.

 

either of you or any of you guys running an rtt on a v series?I found one for sale but not sure if the v series is structurally less sound than say a cx or even a leer 100xr for running an rtt.Also would any of you mind sharing around what the price was on a v series with windoors??.. thanks for any help

 

I bought an installed my windoors later, cost me nearly a grand but it was an easy swap. Getting ready to trash the old sliders unless someone wants them.

 

Just got V series with vented windoors, fold down front slider, and dome light for $2100 installed. Location: Denver, CO.
