That's just a daytime running light, they only say to hook it up if your vehicle has DTRLs which most vehicles in the US with sealed beams never did. Canada has since like 1989 tho. Anywho, no mine didn't have those, they were just your standard high and low and ground. Gotta have a separate harness to convert the ground side switching to positive switching tho.

Ah I do recall you saying this. Surely you can just swap the blades on the head light in the connector though as well.

Nope you can't, believe me I tried. The lights need two positives and a constant ground. The Toyota setup cannot do this, you have to use relays to switch it around. The harness I got was $12 and worked flawlessly, you couldn't really make it yourself any cheaper even.

Late to the snow tire discussion. Just put these on Jen's car, it will be there fourth winter. Treadwear and performance has been awesome. They are winter claw extreme grip mx. Carry on

I think that's what we have on Devin's car too. Something like that. Lasted so long they dry rotted haha only reason she got new ones. Was starting to throw studs too.

My Cooper's are being mounted right now.

Jen's are not studded and still work great. I've never driven studs before so I have no comparison.

I got studs too. Will see if I think it's worth it. Figured it won't hurt in the crap I have to drive in a lot.

Me either. Made it a long time really considered where I grew up. But the fact is that the part of Wyo I grew up in doesn't really see that much snowfall, just damn cold. Compared to here which gets a ton more moisture. I went the last 2 years without them but had plenty of close calls and went off the road once each year on the county road..though that has more to do with not being able to see shit in bad conditions.

But between these and the hankooks, I probably won't need new tires for the DD for a long time. Probably dry rot before they wear out honestly. And if the Duratrac is around maybe I'll try those for a year round tire again.

I have only owned one car my whole life and I never got to drive it haha well..i drove it 3 times.

But 4x4 only does so much in real bad stuff. Doesn't do shit when it comes to stopping and sometimes nothing when it comes to steering even.

80% tire for sure 20% driver, 4x4 just keeps you semi-straight when accelerating.

So Zane. If its MCM front LT and possibly some solo upgrades mixed in there...what are you going to do in the rear?

I've really been toying with the idea of doing a custom SUA setup using the Archive garage towers with a 12/14'' shock. This way not bed cage needed but should pull the same travel numbers as the front(ish) and probably run a double or triple bypass in the rear. Add hydro bumps and run either a LC axle or a 9'' that is wider to accommodate all of this. keep the bed fully in use in the case but should still be fun fun fun.

You going full SUA? Links? Just mid travel rear? Link it? haha

I've been investigating that exact setup.

    FJ80 axle
SUA with custom springs for the weight
Outboard shocks with hoops - notch frame if necessary

Well I'd love a GFC. But not ready to swallow that price tag..yet.

But yeah custom springs man. Be fine.

Yeah kind what I was thinking. Should work well with the lt front.

    So you better upgrade haha

Yeah, I could do a lot more with that much money over just a camper. But it would make life a lot easier with a dog and kid over setting up the stupid annex. Such a pain.

Depending on how everything works out next year I might try to grab a spot if somebody puts one up for sale. Those wait times are too long.

Be interested to see you make the springs work. Don’t know that I’ve seen anybody successfully do it with an “overland” setup. Just 4-link it :boink:

was pretty set on 4 linking it...but...not really worth it I think with just a standard LT kit. And the XLT kit would be fun if I was building a KOH rig but for what I do LT already can be interesting width wise haha

Yeah the wait is so long now. The used market isn't there, people just ask full price or even more for them. Be great to have though. Super nice. Especially with that Kingmans or whatever awning. Be slick.
