Does anyone here have an opinion regarding KM3 vs ST Maxx? Both are available in 255/85r16, for the same money.

I was planning on running wild peak ATs on my truck, but I’m getting impatient and want to get tires before a lift. So the logical choice would be to go with the coopers, but, is there any real quantitative downside to going all the way and throwing on a true M/T? Any idea of gas mileage difference/wear life difference? Hoping for first hand accounts if possible.

Also, if anyone has experience with both the WildPeak a/t and ST Maxx, I’d be interested to read a quick head-to-head. I had the Falkens on my last truck and LOVED them, but haven’t read or heard much of anything in the Coopers other than that they fit.

    Normal dd use, wheeling occasionally**

General HDs in back and Bilstein 5100s in front on lowest setting. Had the front up a notch but like it more down on lowest setting. Should've settled on 4600s all around.

If you might rub think a MT could catch easier on trim material. The Toyo MT and KM3 are my two preferred tires for anything offroad. Just verify clearance first.

Good call. I’m not so worried about rubbing specifically. Should work okay w/ stock suspension, and have zero issues once the truck is lifted. I’m more so just trying to figure out performance/quality/practicality differences for now

I had km2s and now have stmaxx, the bfgs absolutely sucked in the snow we get in central New york, I don't know if that makes a difference to you but the maxxs are awesome at least the first year. We are getting snow later today so I'll see how they do after 10k miles.

The KM2 tread block pattern wasn't angled enough. The main valleys only had a little wave to them. They slipped more in snow. You could feel it break loose on each valley. You will notice more tires now have a constant point of contact with the road to minimize this issue.

Cooper and Toyo did better on slick surfaces. BFG took notice and worked on the problem. Noticed the KM3 faired really well in 3 feet of snow last winter.

i have had both, not on my tacoma though.. the falkens may ride smoother but my 1st set didn't wear well. the coopers seem to last forever and look more aggressive. i just traded my tacoma that was on 255 toyo mt's which i really like, these were my 2nd set of these in 255's. anyway on my new gladiator i went with a conservative 285/75r17.. 34x11 basically in the falkens again. i think they get better snowy road performance which is important in my area. one downside i found to the coopers lasting so long is that once they still looked good but wet road performance was degraded.

Are you talking about the WildPeak MT or AT?

Gotcha! I ran mine in 285/75/16 on an XTerra w/ 2” lift. Never had a chance to try them in snow, but that’s a good selling point here in New England

I'm considering upgrading my tires on my stock 2018 Limited rims, been thinking of going with a "skinny" tire but I'm unsure what would fit properly without rubbing or a lift (yet). Any advice for some reasonably priced tires? I'm also not sure what size would fit properly...tires make no sense ot me lol

I am glad to be off the Toyo MT with all
The snow we’ve just had in my area overnight! The new truck feels good with the AT3W’s this morning in the snow

Has anyone seen a weight for the Kenda RT in 33x10.5x17? Amazon says 52lbs. Which is pretty good for that size if that’s true, but I can’t find anything from the actual manufacturer.

Here’s a dumb question: I’m at a 265/65/17 stock size now and I just put 885’s and Bilsteins all around plus Dakar’s in the rear. I can’t decide whether or not a 255/75/17 will reduce the look of the lift or not.
