I have a clicking sound that seems to come from the drivers side of my three-four liter. It's only really noticeable when i'm on throttle, although I think it may be able to be heard outside the cab at idle? but not very loud. It doesn't get faster or slower, just rapid clicking (on throttle) or not (soft or no throttle). I figured valves but i've heard the 3.4 has self adjusting? Anyway i'm sort of a noob when it comes to this so any input would be appreciated. She has 230k miles on her:smash:. Also i have a link to a youtube vid i made of it if yall care

I would guess your fuel injectors, mine are clicky when on the throttle. It's a common thing for the 3.4

If you've never had them serviced, it might not be a bad time to pull them and have them looked at. There's a few threads/videos about places to send them to and how to pull them, just search 5vzfe ticking and you should find a handful. The only caveat is it'll take 2-3 weeks to get them back once you send them out. So if this truck is your daily, might want to hold off.

The 5vz is known to have this ticky sound, it's nothing bad. Most, if not all of them do it. Chances are if you have never had your injectors serviced they might be a little louder than the used to be. I mean they have been running for 20+ years in some trucks, a little tlc might be due, but not necessary.

If your truck idles smooth, accelerates smooth, gets decent mileage, and isn't throwing any codes, I wouldn't stress about it.
