Are there any repairs/maintenance that typically shows up 200k+ miles out? I just hit 225k miles on my truck and need a paint job pretty bad. I'm trying to think if the paint job price (have a few quotes $2.5k-5k) plus any other large repair coming up is worth it.

Since you have a 2005 I've seen a few threads about headgaskets. From what I've read there was a redesign in Dec 2005.

Yikes I'm seeing that as around a $2.5-3k repair if that happens.. I barely drive since I travel during the week for work.

My opinion on the paint is either DiY or perhaps DIY a wrap.

I've done my own wraps, and I'm not a pro. Order the film, order some squeagies and some Rapid Tac if the film seller suggests it.

Or, scuff that bitch down good with 380, fill the dents or lightly work them out from behind.

    Tape off, prime, paint. Clear.

    Untape and drive.

    Much much cheaper.

I just painted a whole 2500 Dodge for about 500 dollars including materials and sandpaper.
