I specified "C" rated tires but the dealer gave me "E" rated and I didn't notice until I went to swap out the winter wheels in the spring. You want the lowest rotational mass you can get away with. I can sort of see buying the E rated tires if you drive off road, but I doubt most Tacos ever actually see that type of use.

Basically the truck is slow to begin with, and spinning up wheels that weigh 35 kg per corner does not help. I have just accepted that I am going to get beaten off the line by every soccer mom with a minivan full of sprogs.

They are notorious for having weak sidewalls, particularly on the trail. And they gave my Jeep a weird floaty sensation on the freeway.

Weird, I'll keep the sidewall thing in mind, haven't experienced the floaty sensation though.

Those are what I wanted. I went MAXX because of the 255 sizing. I heard they may release the Pro in that size. If they do, I will probably move that direction too.

Those Falkens are 4 ply. Not idea for trails or airing down. By the way, yes, Falkens are amazing. I have them on and just absolutely love them.

Don't these weight like 61lbs? Thats whats keeping away. I have Wildpeaks in oem size and are GREAT in rain and snow. Kind of hope they don't get as hyped as Kbro2s because then everyone will have Wildpeaks.

I ran a set of 265 E's (Duratrec's) on my jeep for 80,000 miles. Sold them to a friend who run them for another year. I can't say enough GOOD things about them.

I second your experience. I crashed my 2007 TRD off road a few years ago in the rain with my BFGs. Hydroplaned and totaled my truck. Luckily I lived to tell about it,but ever since then I havent wanted to get another pair of BFGs incase I hit rain again.

Man, I'd be stressing with 4 ply hitting any trails or going off road. If its mainly highway or snow and rain then i guess its irrelevant. My current Wildpeaks in P265/70/16 in 4 ply are amazing which is why I want to stick, but I've been 99.9% street.

I've wheeled my wildpeaks pretty hard, no issues. I was not going bf Goodrich with reading about the terrible wet/snow traction. Next probably look at the Cooper pros, they are a sexy tire

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
I have never had a problem in the rain with my KO2s on the highway, and a couple of weeks ago I was in some serious mud/clay and made it through no problem. Deep ditches on the sides of a logging road with deep mud ruts, it was a fun drive!
Falkens are fine in the highway, just a boring looking tire.

Idk man, all I see is alot of people complain about wet and snow traction. But no matter what anyone posts, someone hates the tire haha. I like the looks of the km3 alot. I'd consider those.

If you offroad in rough areas with quartz rock, or slate rock, you want the BFG KO/2 E range or D range, both these tires have three ply sidewalls which protect from sidewall punctures and cuts. I do not think the bfg ta/ko 6 ply have 3 ply sidewalls but 2 ply sidewall. I have a set of bfg k/o 8 ply now and they are around six yrs old, and have well over 60,000 miles on them. The 8 and 10 ply last a very long time if take care of. There are only a few tires out there with the 3 ply sidewalls.

I have a lot of miles on these tires offroad in Nevada desert, I do about three trips a yr in the Nevada desert 25-60 miles off the pavement for a week at a time. I would use nothing else.

If your in serious rocks maybe they won’t work.

I run logging roads, camping. Not necessarily wheeling but our roads are full of jagged rock and haven’t had an issue yet.

C rated for hwy and sand E for rock and hard off reading. I had the B rated A/T in the seventies and loved them in the sand but the side walls cracked and they gave us C rated tires free. Have been a fan ever since
