Not a problem. There's also been twice now where I'll be driving along the highway and notice my AC isn't pushing cold air, even though the amber light is solid. After I turn off the truck and back on, works fine.

I don't think it's related to this, but just another fun AC quirk. This has been over the course of 2.5 years.

So after I tightened all my stuff up getting ready for hunting season yesterday, I got in the truck to move it out of the shop and my power steering felt like it was tight? After looking at the belt it appears that has been slipping and I'm going to go get another one Thursday and put it on. I talked to my dad and he said yes that's probably the reason for all the stuff he's been a mechanic for a little while but not as much as you Tacoma guys on these trucks so I guess we will find out and I will post back and let you know the results

if that doesn't solve it, check your u joint on the steering shaft. Right where it enters the steering rack. That can get old and crusty and make it feel like the steering is tight, or has tight spots. Spray some pb blaster on it and if steering gets easy again, you found the culprit.

    Hmm . . . none as yet, that's why i'm here . . .
So Lil red, It has to be the belt slipping causing the RPM difference. Could be due to age of belt but also any water on there and itrs going to slip, also cause for RPM difference. Thus AC is doing what its designed to do

I looked in the 2nd gen tips and mods I can't find where it says how to replace the serpentine belt on the 4.0? It has the 4-cylinder but not the V6 do you guys know if there's a thread with it?

It's pretty straightforward. The tensioner needs a 14mm socket put on it and turned to the left. The bolt is reverse threaded so no need to worry about loosening it.

With the tensioner in the loosest position, you can slip an allen key or something in the hole to hold it in place, if that makes sense. That way you don't need to hold it while you feed the new belt on.

That will relieve tension on the belt and it can slip off. You have to work it around the fan. Reverse order to put it back on.

Awesome sir, Thanks so much. I will put it on my lift tomorrow and do it instead of through the hood.

Thanks so much guys....truck went on the lift and belt was off and back on within 1 hour. I also lubed the u joint on the steering wheel shaft and seems to steer easier. Not sure what made it better but it is, now time to hit some water this weekend and see if my AC keeps running.......

Just wanted to say thank you so much guys for the helping the feedback after the belt replacement I'm happy to say after two days my AC has not shut off yet and everything seems to be fine steerng also feels better not sure if it's because of the PB Blaster on the knuckle or the belt but regardless it feels much better. Thank you to all the tacomaworld Brothers for the help

Also in my original post I put an update so in case people have this issue I don't have to read through everything and less they want to lol
