I’m at about 34k miles and I have not noticed any leakage from the third brake light, but my 2018 truck was purchased at the end of 2017 so as I understand it, I’ve probably got the leaky light.

it doesn’t rain much and I don’t wash the truck near as often as I should. I’m debating between adding some clear silicone caulking along the top edge of the light...

or.. run the hose over it while inside the truck and try to determine if it’s coming in.

Any opinions? Anyone done either of these two things just before your warranty was up?

If it’s not leaking now it probably never will. My understanding of the problem was some had a faulty install from the factory, not that the seal gave out over time. My 2017 has never leaked and I never had any concerns that it was ever going to start to leak. (I replaced it with a different light, simply because I wanted a camera up their).
