    Hi All,

I tried searching to see if anyone else had the issue, but I couldn't find any results here. (At least with OEM mats on a Gen 3)

Does anyone with an M/T Tacoma have issues with your OEM weather mat getting caught up on your clutch? I noticed it is a bit wider than the actual footrest area of the truck. Is there a different part number for the OE mat in an M/T truck? I'm actually surprised a dealer would sell the truck like this, as it's pretty unsafe.

    Thanks in advance!

You have to make sure you have the right parts number. The manual and auto floor mats are different. Looks like you have the Auto ones.

Cool thanks for the responses! I'll see if the dealer can sort out a floor mat swap instead of cutting these up.

Looks like you have the mats for the Auto. Take it back to the dealer so they can get you the correct ones. That is unsafe and since they put the wrong ones in, they should replace them for free.

That's the plan. Just found the difference in part numbers here:

    https://parts.toyota.com/p/Toyota__...rs---MT-Double-Cab/70042420/PT9083517520.html

Unfortunately the dealer I bought from is 3 hours away so I have a feeling this is going to be a process...

No it's not, just tell them to have a new set mailed to you and the set they gave you is a sunk cost of incompetence. You shouldn't have to inconvenience your life extensively to fix this.

You clearly have automatic transmission mats it is printed right on the mats. Right there in your second pic.

I wonder what else they either didn't inspect or missed.

Honestly I bet you they were out of the all weather floor mats in manual (or didn't bother to look) and some genius installed them figuring how different could they really be. I know my dealership if its manual specific they usual have to special order is and don't have it on hand.

Attention to detail can say a lot about the dealership

It’s a chronic problem these days. I see a lack of attention to detail everywhere.

I had the exact same issue in my truck and they had to order me the MT mats. Took about a week to get them.

Apparently the mat pack is tossed into the truck at the rail yard before the truck goes on the truck for delivery but I'm really curious how a tech doing the install as part of PDI misses the fact the mat grabs the clutch pedal every time you push it to the floor.

Not going to lie... when I was a dodge/jeep tech, we flew through them and got paid the hour work for 10 minutes on the rack and a 5 minute test drive but Toyota and Ford were way less tolerant of fuck-ups. Seems everyone's QC has gone a bit downhill lately and if I buy a Toyota again, it will likely be something Japanese made like a 4Runner or GX.
