is it better to get the $300-$400 real trd pro grill or a knock off one for $150?

Somebody has probably already mentioned it here but if you buy an aftermarket make sure it is one where all of the 'TOYOTA' letters attach as one piece and all of the letters have the same color surround/outline. If you look really close, some of the aftermarket grills have a letter or two that look slightly larger because the letter surrounds don't match. I debated buying the OEM forever and eventually bought an aftermarket and it fit/looked great... just do your research. I have since taken it off because I decided I like the stock grill better with a color-matched bezel (pro grill looks too big IMO unless you have a black truck).

 

Don't b a follower and spend the big bucks on a authentic product.
The smarter choice of course is to spend the least on a fake PC of plastic. But I feel that u can't make that decision and need input from the internet. Spend the most so u can gain clout

 

I have had an Ebay Knockoff on my 18 TRDOR for over a year and 30K miles. No issues, fits and looks like OEM, probably made in the same factory by same machines. Save some money, you already gave a bunch to Toyota.

 

Taco Garage grill and JP-Genuine garnish off ebay. No sensor issues whatsoever on my 2019 OR. Less than $170 for both. Came with the letters installed.

 

I bought an OEM Pro grille in 2017 when the Pro was released and the part number was available. Knock offs were not available yet. Back in 2017, Toyota did not know how to pack the grille in the box properly. The first two arrived at the dealer with broken tabs. I am happy with my OEM grille, but I would say get whatever grille you feel is right for you.

 

Got my OEM Pro Grill back in ‘17... Shopped around on the internet for a dealer willing to sell at a reasonable price. Virginia Toyota Dealer outside of Richmond had the best deal with shipping. Fit, form, and function is what you get from Toyota OEM. Your money...buy what you want!

 

I went with OEM; if it's a new truck OEM is a no brainer (imho)

 

I have had the Knockoff for I think two years...and it has been great. No complaints.

 

I bought mine from wish.com for $96 including shipping. I’ve had it on for almost a year. No issues. I also have a ‘17 which is before all the TSS. It looks good and makes my trucks appearance fantastic. The cheap chrome grill had to go.

 

I went with OEM but only because at the time I purchased there were no knockoffs. It fits well and looks good, but had there been other options I probably would have gone knockoff.

 

I’m ordering a grill (aftermarket) with raptor lights in white.
Where is the best place to wire it so when the truck is started the lights come on? Add a fuse to fuel pump fuse? Or is there a better place?

There are a lot of knock offs being sold as OEM now as well. I'm thinking the same thing, but leaning towards taco garage set up.

Neither. Go SR grille bezel or paint your bezel. Don't listen to the guys making fun of your stock grille. Half kidding.

 

Watched video, kept chanting, "show the TG grill already!". XD Good to see a video comparing the different variants of aftermarket and OEM, very informative.

Didn't disappoint, the quality of the TG grill over the others and even OEM was very apparent. Still love the non-glossy look of the aftermarkets myself, and still working on those custom holiday themed letters since I can remove each one individually.
