Some of the passes out here I'll be in 3rd gear, 4600+ rpm. She's slow alright but don't be afraid to get her riled up.

Just gun it at the bottom and downshift as necessary. :burnrubber:

These trucks are the balless wonders. Even without armor they are pigs to get moving.

If you want more power you will have to Supercharger it. There are lots available for the 2TR, however, I am not sure if they are CARB approved for CA or not.

Itll take 4600 rpm?? I feel like ill blow the motor at that type of revving. I have heard that the car is gutless, just a bit surprising on the performance. I understand tho.

Might sound like it but as long as you aren't bouncing it off the rev limiter every shift you'll be fine. The 4 bangers engines were born to rev high

As long as you keep up with regular maintenance, revving high is not really an issue. If you have oversized tires you may want to regear. Other than that going uphill at 75mph in a 4 banger is going to take more rpm than a 6 cyl and probably need to be in a lower gear as long as you're not redlining it

For this engine spark plugs should be done at 120k. They are cheap so if you don't know just do it, I saw a slight performance increase after I did mine around 125k.
Solid engines, just keep em happy and they won't let you down. I just replaced my water pump, radiator hoses, serpentine belts and pulleys. She is much happier and quieter now. About 145k on the clock

I just think the previous owner did them recently-0 I did history on VIN and he was quoted that job a not to long ago at dealer. Didnt get it done at dealer, but no other service was done there either. prev owner said they did alot of their own maintenance aswell.

You got a 4 banger, what do you expect?
75+ in California? Way over the speed limit, hope not to share the road with you.
