Just wondering how many miles everyone has gone after doing your clutch accumulator delete mod?

Really considering doing it. Truck feels pretty meh in reverse just like my last BMW 6 speed before I deleted the accumulator.

In the Taco, I actually went dead in reverse once backing into my sloped driveway LOL. Could not feel what was happening with the clutch at all. It's a very muted feedback in reverse.

Quite a few members here with a good amount of miles. Im only like 5k km so far, works excellent and how it should have been from factory.

Reverse sucks in general in our Trucks, feels like a highway gear.

I recently backed out of a steep loading dock and got the clutch smelling pretty hot. Not sure the ADM would solve that though, the 2wd low mod would be better. The ADM is definitely something on my to do list, being as cheap as it is.

It does seem reverse is an unusually tall gear...but I guess it's not a big deal. I would like to do the clutch ADM anyway. Wanna see how the forward gears feel, especially shifting 1-3. Overall I like how the truck shifts most of the time. Like any MT vehicle it has certain "preferences" in how its driven, we'll say. Just gotta learn what it likes. I'm always up for trying something that could make me feel more connected to what's going on, though.

Could you comment on how it feels different? I know there are a ton of posts on this...

The friction point is very precise now, you dont have to guess it. No more vague feel, much quicker and smoother to downshift. No more shudder when starting uphills and the stupid clunks are gone, especially when shifting 4-5-6.

With the accumulator i had to release the clutch very slowly to shift smoothly, now the clutch responds exactly to my foot, so can be done quicker. I noticed the biggest difference when downshifting and rev matching.

Sounds good to me. What were the clunks exactly? That "thud" noise when shifting? Mine seems to be the most noisy when upshifting in gears 1-3, but it's more of a clang sound. Probably the TOB and pressure plate action I'm hearing.

I've noticed the trans can be a little notchy from 1st into 2nd, and 2nd into 3rd... this seems to only happen if you rush the shift without really getting that clutch pedal down ALL the way first, or maybe also when short shifting at lower rpms. That's when I've noticed it feeling notchy going into gear.

Seems to really want that pedal alllll the way down before moving the stick at all, and it likes being revved to about 3k before shifting. Much smoother shifts this way for me. Not complaining, just observations. Again, I wouldn't mind feeling more connected to that clutch.

Nice work. If Magic doesn't treat you well (I was never in there), Rodland definitely will.

Lol, no idea who those folks are. All I can say is Harris Ford... I'm not a fan.

Oh wait. You named Toyota dealers. Now I'm with you.

I had a 2004 SVT Cobra that did the same thing only worse. It did not have a stock clutch lol
