    You seem like a principled man OP, so going to throw this out there. The license of the Entune software suite lives with the vehicle VIN and can at Toyota's discretion be assigned to a different radio, bit strictly speaking you are are not entitled to access the software with a different head unit.

    The license you download from the App store does not entitled you to use the software on the radio.

    I don't think getting a new head unit helps you one bit. Just my opinion.
