Cheap magnet mount

So, Harbor Freight has these 18 inch magnetic tool holders. Right now there is a coupon for 3 dollars each. I decided to see what I could do with one.
First off, in Louisiana you can open carry, however, when in your vehicle it is advised you do not keep the weapon on your person. If you have a concealed carry permit its different, and I am getting that soon.
Anyway, with the location of all the airbags, I wanted something I could easily grab, hold extra mags, and not become a projectile in case of an accident.
So, here it is. Keep in mind, I am left handed, so this works great for me. It may not be ideal for everyone, but I like it.

 

The magnets are stronger than I expected. I haven't tested kicking the door open or slamming it shut as I do not do that normally day to day. Also, I am the only one that drives this truck.

That is pretty nice, but the airbags under the steering column is still a concern.
