I finally had to go to another Toyota dealership in town to have mine done... At first they said they couldn't replicate it but kept it overnight and heard it in the morning - had one ordered that day under warranty. It was replaced in April and haven't heard any chirping noises since.

I've got a 2018 Off Road with a hair over 10,000 miles and a newly developed chirping noise that's driving me nuts. Noticed the TSB doesn't cover model year 2018. Anybody else with a 2018 have success getting a dealer to fix the problem? I'm expecting the usual dealership "this is normal" run around.

Just started hearing this at 75k on my 2016 OR DCLB. Dealer in Salt Lake City told me about the tsb for the hpfp and said it would cost $1500 to replace ($1300 just for the pump). Does that sound reasonable?

Luckily mine was covered under warranty so I didn't have to pay anything out of pocket. I'd check online stores to see what the HPFP is going for because I feel like $1300 for just the pump is a bit high..

Definitely seems high. My paperwork says the same at around $1300 for part. Seems you can find that part much cheaper though.

I don't have this issue (yet) on my 2019 but I wondered if any of you tried running a can of sea-foam/Marvel through the tank and if that lubrication had any effect?

People have used cleaners and fuel add packs etc. for the chirp with no long term success. If anything it would make it better temporarily then come right back. If you're chirping it is most likely going to continue to chirp until the HPFP is addressed.

I just put in some Lucas Oil Upper Cylinder lubricant on a full tank. We'll see if that works. Otherwise I'm just buying the part online and having Toyota install it.

Mine has gotten obnoxious this past month. Might try to get it covered under my extended Toyota warranty.

Thanks. Let us know how it goes.

My chirping seems to intermittently occur in the afternoon or after I have been driving for an extended period of time. Never during my morning drive to work. My chirping will be hard to replicate.

So my truck just started making this noise and I know it’s exactly this. I know I showed them this tsb one day while I was under warranty and now I don’t see anywhere on the my Toyota care that it was done. It was on a day where I asked them to perform a couple of things. Now thus stupid thing is loud and I’m out of warranty. I def don’t want to pay 1,500 for them to do crap that should have been done. I’ll guess I’ll be calling Monday and try to get this taken care of. BS there’s a TSB on it that was supposed to be done, now at 80k already have an issue. Smh

If anything were done it would have been a scheduled repair/install for the TSB. Your dealer most likely won't have the parts (back ordered). Mine had to be ordered before TSB replacement was done. Took about a little over 2 weeks to get the part (back ordered) then they had my truck for full day for the replacement HPFP. Not that the install took all day, but that is just how they do it. Drop it off for the scheduled que. Hopefully they have something documented about the noise from previous visits for Mondays call. Also, at least you can still drive your vehicle while you wait for parts if they decide to go forward with the TSB and repair your HPFP. It's not broken down or throwing codes. Keep us updated on what happens. Good luck.

This doesn't look too difficult to replace, super easy access. Anyone replace it themselves or find it in the fsm?

I was actually curious about this as well and you're right, it doesn't look too difficult at all. This could be the prime opportunity to find out if @Tommyb08 gets denied the TSB and is capable of replacing himself. I did source the part number put into my truck per TSB and have linked it a much cheaper purchase on Amazon at the bottom of the page.

I think this runs off the cam shaft or is oil driven. I forget. I'ma dig in the fsm and see what I find. Usually it freezes on me when I try to search. I'm only on mobile.
