Say Auburn wins out, knocking #4 Georgia to 2 loss, and #5 Bama to 2 loss. Auburn then holds a head to head win over #6 Oregon, so should theoretically be ahead of them. Oklahoma/Baylor are a ???

all of this drama going on with a 4 team playoff, when really all they did was add 2 more teams to the previous template, because everyone non-SEC bitched that there were "too many SEC teams" going to the national championship.

I really think this little debate only gets settled if we have an 8 team playoff, that way the politics surrounding "there is too much bias for the SEC" goes away completely and we can allow some other teams to prove their worth.

Just my opinion. There are too many hypotheticals and hubbub surrounded strength of schedule -- something that is decided years in advance - it is frankly nauseating.

Yes, it is far-fetched. A 2 loss team with no conference championship is not getting in. If the SEC (except LSU) beats up on themselves, only one team gets in.

You have Georgia, Alabama, Oregon, Utah, Minnesota, Penn State, Oklahoma, Florida, Auburn, Baylor. In that order right now.

Auburn beats Georgia this weekend, and LSU theoretically beats Georgia to stay undefeated, so UGA is out.
Auburn beats Alabama, both 2 loss teams, head to head Auburn is ahead of Alabama.
Oregon wins out, so drops Utah to 2 losses which are both worse than Auburns 2 losses, and Auburn has a head to head win over Oregon.
OSU wins out so they knocked Minnesota down to 1 loss, and Penn State to 2.

with wins over #4 UGA and #5 Alabama I think Auburn "jumps" OU/Florida/Baylor in the rankings and is sitting there competing with Oregon and OU/Baylor for that #4 spot. head to head over Oregon should put them in.

to the committee, in the recent years, SOS means more than Conference Title.

exactly. obviously those other teams have to win/lose for Auburn, so the "control their own destiny" was a joke...but there is in fact a chance for them to make it.

A 2-loss non champion won’t jump a 1-loss champion. Oregon will have the chance to beat a top ranked Utah and OU will have the chance to beat an over ranked Baylor twice.

Auburn can sit at home with two losses and OU or Oregon will get snubbed.

OSU knew what they were doing, sat him and got ahead of it which led the NCAA to be easier on Young. OSU playing chess (and used to dealing with the NCAA on scandals)

 

If the story is true that the money was so his GF could go to his NY6 bowl, and it paid back, that’s some pretty weak shit.. and I don’t like ohio state one bit.

 

I don't really know if i believe his story also his attorney said it was "to cover basic life expenses" but also the money was from a NFLPA certified agent, which aligns with "knew him since summer before freshman year" aka when i stepped on campus
