My Wife's 2018 Camry has what appears to be the same Toyota Connect setup. It CAN be started remotely with the key fob. The directions are kinda hidden in the user manual.

For her Camry, you press the lock button on the key fob 3 times, holding it on the 3rd. The timing of the presses is tricky, but it was easy for me to get the hang of it.

I'd be willing to bet that the 2020 Tacoma has the same feature. :fingerscrossed:

Is this feature/app only compatible with 2020 model?

I basically went in and explained that I had researched several issues that were addressed in 3 TSBs and resolved by one fix between all three. They looked at it, and service advisor after it was done came in and said they didn't write up all three complaints, but just wrote up one, since all three were addressed by the flash. I said I'm more than fine with that, write it up however you want as long as you do it. The three TSBs I armed myself with were 0062-18, 0058-18, and 0125-18.

I’m I couldn’t tell you for certain... I had to update my EnTune infotainment unit (which happened to be in a 2020,) and it was then a matter of swapping codes. Works like a charm, though. It’s very literally the Toyota app, though; no harm in downloading it and giving it a try. Free trial for 1 year if it works.

Okay, fine, just don't get me started on 84 month car loans.

(...but the monthly payments are so cheap!)

I have a 75 month payment and I'm not proud of it. Will hopefully pay it off early.

I don't judge..I looked at my finances and went with a term that I felt comfortable with. I make extra payments on the months I can afford it and make the minimum payments on the other months.

Has anyone found a decent cap or cover for the Start/Stop button? I noticed how worn the Start/Stop button is on my aunt's 2011 Avalon, I don't want my ignition to look the same in a few years. I don't understand why all manufacturers don't make this button out of metal, you touch it all the time.

Found this on Amazon but it is for a mazda, I doubt it is the same size.

 Everyone should manage their finances in such a responsible manner.

This is definitely a better option than choosing a payment cycle that cripples you financially which an alarming number of folks do. Then when life kicks them and the vehicle gets repossessed they tend to get upset feeling/believing it is somehow someone else's fault that they over-extended themselves. o_O

As long as one goes into an agreement they know they can meet or beat responsibly, there should be no reason for judgement. Not all people, nor should they, have the same life experience, abilities, or financial where-with-all.

That's exactly why I did it. I didn't want to stretch myself so thin that I'd have to ultimately change my lifestyle to afford a vehicle.

To be honest, I wanted to go used to save some money...but the used prices on these trucks made absolutely no sense. They really hold their value! The cheapest used one I could find was a 2017 with 34k miles on it that needed tires...for only 2.5k less than a new truck.

I bought used because a found a salvage title 17 with <30k miles for a descent price. Only salvage because it had been stolen and the insurance paid it out before it was recovered. Driven over 20k miles so far with no issues.
