If you are talking about the Sun Spider (Solifugae) then those first longer appendages are the pedipalps which aren't legs. Those same appendages are the pincers in scorpions. And now I'll put my biology degree back on the shelf. :D

Not an entry as I didn't read the rules entirely and these were taken a few years ago. I was given this spider by a coworker that found it on his porch and wanted it gone. She was in a mason jar in an empty white bucket (released back to a nature area after the pictures). It was a focus stack taken with a macro lens (hence the double leg in the one picture). I think it fits the current category though.

And then there is this guy that I found in our house after we moved to Arizona. It appeared as though he lost his "stinger" though.

I'll take my 6 year old rust free frame and no flying bugs in the summer, over the humidity and mosquitos the size of humming birds. While I have never been stung, I've heard this particular Scorpion sting is comparable to a wasp. Just last longer.

I've been hit by those scorpions a couple times. For me it hurts about the same as a wasp sting, but then it goes numb after a few minutes so honestly not too bad.

Yup, been hit a couple times. Not nearly as bad as I imagined it would before I ever got stung.
