    I have a 2007 4Runner with the 4.7 V8 4x4 and just bought a 2019 Tacoma TRD Off-Road 4x4.

Which would be your choice for off roading in snow, mud, hills, etc...?

The 4Runner has BFG AT KO2's. Tacoma has the stock tires.

    The 4runner doesn't have a locker I take it?
Idk it's up to you. More power in the V8 or the locker in the taco I guess is the deciding factor?

Both are capable. Why bang up a $40k truck? Go with the 4Runner.

The 4runner will have better angles, you'll drag the ass end of the Tacoma way more often . It's also shorter and you'll have an easier time turning through tight twisting trails. (Say THAT 10 times quickly!)

    That 4runner is a gem, 2nd generation 4.7 with VVT-i. DON'T sell it ...

I was thinking of selling it but it's nearly mint with 105K miles. Fully serviced including timing belt, water pump, brakes, etc...

I’ve been on the lookout for that exact vehicle for a couple years now. Very rare around here

I miss my V8 4runner. Replaced it with the only equal, Gx470. I can't get enough of that 2uz. My favorite Yota engine.

The Service Advisor at Toyota is always trying to buy it. But it's worth more than book value. Super hard to find these and they are awesome.

A v8 4runner with full time 4wd and a rear diff locker and 100k miles...that thing is a unicorn, if you put that up for sale be sure to ask way over KBB for it because you'll get people willing to pay it. I would keep it though.

I would cry less about scratches and dents with the 12 year old 4runner.

Had this exact 4runner, but 2006 model. Liked everything about it except the mpg (13?) and seats, which were the most uncomfortable seat I've ever had. I sold it for about $3k over KBB. If I were in your boat, I'd have more fun in the 4runner because I wouldn't be worrying about damaging the Taco.

Yeah she's long paid off and everything has been serviced so she is good for another 10 years at least. It's a beast when I go up to the Blue Ridge Mountains. She pulls hard and strong.

We have both of these. My fiance has the 09 T4R limited v8 4x4 with just over 100k miles and mine is 17 TRD OR 4x4.

We use mine for off-roading a camping now since it’s more built, but as soon as she’s ready for a new car, the T4R is going to turn into the trail rig. :D

I like the comfort and features of the Tacoma better, but the 4Runner is such a more well rounded vehicle with an incredible power plant.
